Lola (Lass)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Lola hasn't been herself just lately. 11 days ago she had a second episode where she lost her balance, was wobbly on her legs and wasn't able to interact with us in her normal way. She lost the ability to do simple things such as lie down for a treat. The first time it all passed very quickly, Paul had her a the vets within 90 mins (they couldn't find anything obvious) and she was back to normal in 36 hours. However this second time it took days to see real improvements. She normally can't move without wagging her tail and it was about 4 or 5 days before we saw a single wag. Our vet referred her to The Willows and she has been there today to see one of their specialists. Paul and I have been desperately worried about her so the wait for the appointment seemed eternal even though it was in reality less than a week. She has had an MRI scan today and the results of this combined with the other tests indicate that she has had a stroke. They have also done a full blood screening looking for underlying causes for the stroke and we should have the results by the end of the week. She has been prescribed a low dose of Aspirin to take each day too. We are keeping everything crossed that she will continue to make further improvement over the coming days and weeks and that she will be able get back to see her friends at Saturday training (we might opt for a spectator seat initially!) and resume her PAT dog duties at some point, even if we opt for a lighter schedule in the future. Lola is a very special girl and we will do everything in our power to get her through this. A big thank you goes to all our special friends who have sent their thoughts and good wishes. It really does mean a lot. Lots of love from Linda, Paul & Lola xxxx A special mention also goes to Lena who has been so very grown up today and put up with being left home alone. You are amazing too xxxx

Poppy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Poppy is being a little treasure! She spent most of the day at the kennels in the kitchen with Joe my grey and Louis and Charlie (Sara's non greys) and has been very good. She just wants to play and will bark at the others trying to get them to interact but sadly they were all too tired or obviously not in the mood!!! I took her for a walk over the park this evening - she did show herself up going mental at a squirrel but Foxy had wound her up and unlike him she couldn't go tearing after it so was very frustrated 🙁 Once it had disappeared she calmed down and wasn't bothered by a small dog running in the distance. I really hope she finds a home soon....

Jed
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Well Jed is back from vets and feeling very sorry for himself and minus 22 teeth but has had a nice 'soft' tea of pasta and pilchards! His manly image is completely shot to bits by the 'lovely' pink bandage he is now sporting on his poorly paw! Just the dreaded blood results to wait for next week to see if we have a malabsorbtion problem have fingers and toes crossed we don't!

Today my gorgeous girl added a proper A frame to her agility circuit! Still having to have her own tiny tunnel but happy to go over jumps, through the tyre and over the a frame for some cheesy treats. Auntie Ruth has a photo - its just so amazing to see her shine in her fluffy pink harness and sparkly pink collar. Who would have thought you would become what you are now? Love you Daisydog xx

Liam
I’m Homed
Michael & I took long stayer Liam out for the day today to give him a break from kennel routine and see how he was in the "outside world". To make things easier for us we collected him yesterday afternoon and he was a well behaved houseguest overnight - being clean, dry and sleeping through until almost 7.00am. I must say he is a big, strong boy and he seemed to fill our country cottage!! Liam embraces life and his constantly wagging tail kept crashing into things, but he is so friendly and affectionate, dispensing kisses and greeting everyone he met expecting a fuss! He is inquisitive with a capital I - investigating absolutely everything, and is food orientated which makes trying to eat your sandwich somewhat of an adventure! However, when corrected he responds very well, and considering how new, scary and exciting everything was for him in the 24 hours he was with us, he was starting to calm down already, this bodes well for his forever home. He quickly learned to climb the stairs, was interested but good with the other breeds and the ducks in Abbey Fields this morning, got a little excitable around smaller breeds, wasn't too sure what to make of young, noisy children and is quite strong on the lead to start with. Life is just sooo exciting for this handsome boy, and he meets it head on! Although we had him such a short time, it has given a little insight into his personality and we can now provide more information to potential adopters to help make sure he finds just the right home for him. Big cuddles sweetheart, and thank you for a lovely day. xxxx

Poor Rosie, so sorry guys. I did wonder if she was warning the other dogs to stay away at training because she was hurting, like Charlie did. Metacam will sort her out - just ask Charlie! x

Jed
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Poor Jed not only a GA for a thorn in his pad, Vet telephoned to say most of his teeth also need to come out and that he has brittle nails which is indicating a nutritional deficiency add in blood test for possible mal-absorption and he's not having a very nice day - collecting him this evening poor lad.

So happy to see a maturer grey going to her forever home! I'm sure Monty will show her the ropes (if he's anything like my little rescue terrier cross who's shadow is a big black g-hound called Joe) Good luck to all the family and of course to Carla Xx
