Our beautiful little girl yelped last night as she jumped down off the bed, then went lame 15 minutes into this morning's walk, so off to the vet again to be told that she's aggravated her torn muscle/tendon in her rear right leg. Now the poor little mite is on Metacam and is only allowed 2 (maybe 3) 10 minute walks each day in order to give the damaged area time to heal. Cheeky little monkey now has a new bedding area set up in the lounge in the form of an unused single mattress, complete with pillow, duvet & blanket. It looks comfier than our bed so just to check it out, I'm sat on it as I type this update and guess what... it is!! All I can do is cuddle her and keep telling her that Mom & Dad will do everything we can to make her feel better very soon. Tash

Love all the photos of Poppy - looks like a real homebody! I think Tash and Muddy paws make a very good point. Rehoming a dog is always difficult whether or not you have existing canines to consider (we had 2 then 3). It's even harder to make the decision to say it is not working and return a dog that everyone has such high hopes for, new parents and all the people on the board alike. There will always be a period where the grey will need to settle with new parents or new dogs, no matter how lovely they have been in kennels. Time and patience are the key - we have had times when Champ's separation anxiety has seemed insurmountable, he pulls on the lead walking in the fields because it is all new.... but we make small and sometimes slow progress, but progress it is. I am really sorry that some new parents have to make the heartbreaking decision to return their greys to kennels but if it's possible, little ones, small furries and existing dogs permitting, take it day by day and see how it goes. There is lots of support out there - Ruth, Kate and all the people on here - chances are someone else has been through the same issues and may be able to help through the good and the bad. And if returning the grey is the only and right option for all concerned, then that support will still be here xx
