Hi Louisa, welcome to the world of fostering/owning. As others have said it would be worth speaking to Ruth about the whimpering as it can be for various reasons if you tell her more about the background she will be able to give you the best advice. From what others have said I'm sure you are reassured about the tongue thing. Our boy Louis does it several times a week it is just one of the many things we adore about him. Good luck with Al he is a gorgeous lad. X

Our stevie (stevie thunder) quite often has his tongue hanging out of the side of his face. We call it his ticko (thick) tongue because it makes him look sooooo intelligent......not!!!!! Sarah (ballymac sarah) our other on the other hand doesn't seem to do it as often. As it has been said they are all different, as they should be. Good luck Al you look amazing. X

Hi Louisa, had look at Al's photo and our Breeze also has a bit of tongue stuck out a lot of the time, when i cook she lies in the door with her body on the living room carpet and head on the kitchen tiles when she gets up there is a puddle where she has had her tongue out. she also sticks it out at our son when he sticks his out at her. Xxx

Hi Louisa. The tongue thing seems quite normal for some of the greys. Our Lola has all of her teeth and still manages to display bits of her tongue from time to time just like in Al's photo (which is very cute by the way). It can be when she's relaxing at home or when we are out walking .....it looks like she has a bit of ham sticking out of her mouth !! Sometimes it can go a bit crispy when she's snoozing and has been known to stick to the carpet! On the other hand, our other one Lena doesn't do it at all. That's what's so great .....they are all so different and all have their own quirks. Hope that you enjoy your time fostering Al and I am pretty sure that he will be enjoying his time with you. xxx

Hi Louisa I met you and your mom on Sunday, it is great news that you fostered Al !! I fostered Blade but realised very soon that I am not foster material and Blade is well and truly settled here, the joy I get from seeing Blade and Bertie is priceless, it makes me smile everyday and I just cannot wait to see there happy waggy tails each morning !!! ANYWAY enough about that !! Al !! when I first got Bertie someone said take them out to toilet every hour until they know to tell you, and then when they toilet outside praise them !! it worked for Bertie and Blade and they were clean straight away. my moms grey ( Flossie ) has a tongue that peeps out at the side, I thought it was because there was a gap were there were no teeth !! but it just seems a comfy place for her toungue to naturally sit ???? but the wimpering I suspect is just the enormaty of a new enviroment ( Ruth and others will know a lot more than me ) give Ruth a ring and have a chat, many a time I have called Ruth just so I know that everything is as it should be !! but congratulations in making the leap to fostering you are doing a fabulous thing xx
