We are so grateful to Louisa and her family for fostering Bella for the last couple of weeks. It has given her experience of the the outside world and living in a home environment. Thanks to the fabulous comments from Louisa, Bella has several people interested in offering her a home. :)) She really is a very special little girl. Xxx

We have loved fostering the beautiful Bella; she has been an absolute dream to look after. She is really special and affectionate and loves cuddling up right next to you and giving licks. She walks brilliantly on the lead, doesn’t pull and really enjoys meeting people and other dogs. She has been tested with cats at Daybreaks and seems to be cat friendly and was more interested in people than the cats. She really enjoys her food and looks forward to her meals and treats. She also travels perfectly in the car and jumps straight in. She has met so many little dogs on our walks and wags her tail when meeting them and gives them a sniff but isn’t too sure how to play with them just yet. She has been brilliant at home with us, had one accident on the first day straight after her dinner (our fault for not letting her out straight after her food as she is used to at the kennels) but since then has been clean in the house. She was a little nervous of all the new noises in the house at first but is now very relaxed with all the everyday noises around the home. We have built up leaving her for a few hours and she seems happy with her Kong and a comfy bed and always welcomes us back with a wagging tail. We are seeing her personality come out more with each day and it is lovely to see her do a zoomie in the garden. She is still learning how to play with toys and is more interested in a cuddle than her toys at the moment but it would be lovely for her to learn to play. Daybreaks Diary!

The day began with a message from Denise who had opened up the kennels only to find the bottom kennel block was flooding!! The drainage company had been out yesterday and thought the problem had been resolved, sadly not! So, out they came again today, fingers crossed the problem has been resolved. Many thanks to everyone for their help today, the dogs all had morning and afternoon walks. It again started to get very chilly this afternoon so all dogs have their fleecy coats on and the kennel heaters are on so they are all lovely and warm. The sand run was busy this afternoon. Denver who found himself reserved yesterday went out for a couple of hours to his new 'home', he was an absolute star and asked to go out to toilet when he needed to and also played with his new greyhound sister. As always, stay safe and well all.

This beautiful girl was homed in October 2021 but due to family health issues she is being returned. Her owners told us: Holly is an absolute joy and is now fully housetrained and will run to the back door when needing to go. She walks beautifully on a loose lead and loves all dogs and people including babies and small children. We have been able to let her run round the park off the lead and she has great recall and knows her name when called. If you are interested please contact Daybreaks on 0121 782 7702

Daybreaks Diary!

After a very wet, windy and grey start, it turned into quite a pleasant day with some lovely winter sunshine - and our boys & girls enjoyed 2 walks. Our post-ops Polly & Joe were really not best pleased at being left out though!!! Ruth was in this morning and had a busy time with paperwork, teeth & corns. She is recovering, but just needs to take it slowly - so after an intense morning, we sent her home this afternoon to have a nap!! It was a fairly quiet day, so the doggies got some extra attention and grooming, which they enjoyed. The highlight of the day was the homing of pretty Penny - wishing her and her new family many happy times ahead. It's starting to get cooler now as the sun goes down, so the students are tucking up the boys & girls in their snuggly fleeces and it's wall heaters on in the blocks as a cold night is forecast. Roll on Spring! Well another weekend is upon us, and the diary looks busy again so I will raise a glass or two later and hope for some red or green signs by Monday morning. It was Joe's turn to be neutered today. We were all very pleased for him as two of our girls have only just come out of season and poor Joe's hormones were all over the place, making him very stressed! 🙁 He was such a good boy in the car, we had Tiggy with us too as she has hurt a paw and also needed to see the vet. Xxx Many thanks to Richard for picking him up for us this afternoon. Joe was so very quiet even when he came out for his dinner, which he throughly enjoyed. 🙂 Hoping he will feel better tomorrow. Xxx
