James
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I know every year I post a comment about the fireworks, I really wish there were only organised displays and not the what seem like rockets going off all night from teatime. Our James does have his firework CD which does help, we leave this on replay for most of the night but he can still hear the big noisy fireworks. We close the curtains and feed him his tea in the afternoon as he will not eat once he hears a firework. He has his soft bedding to lie on and Rose and Tom to keep him company too but he gets so upset panting, gets hot, eyes wide open and he will not lie down. Does anyone know of anything else we can do to help him as it upsets me seeing him in distress.

just got to share this with you, it says it all what a fantastic character Ade is . Ade went window shopping last night, we had to stop at every shop and study what was in the window with great curiosity moving his head from side to side, loved the lights and moving objects, when we got to the shop with Farther Christmas in, he just sat down and cried jumping up now and again to have a better look, i wish i had a camera his face was a picture, looked so happy, he is such a fantastic lad so full of character, i am so jealous of the lucky family that gives him a home. 🙂 🙂 xx

Great news..... I went to the vets this afternoon with Paul who is fostering Pumpkin. In a nutshell his kidneys are ok, his liver results show slightly high levels but nothing worrying. His protein level is a little low which could be affecting his weight - it could be that he has been underfed or he has an underlying bowel problem. He has been started on Vitamin B12 injections to help which will be weekly along with a weight check and we are keeping our fingers crossed he starts to improve. (I am hoping I have got all this right as it was a lot to take in!) Although he hasn't gained weight according to the scales, it was obvious from looking at him that he had put on a little weight. I am so grateful to Terry and Paul for looking after him for me.

Ade

Having had the pleasure of being with Ade at 3 Pets at Home awareness events and also on our Stratford Walk I am so pleased that he is proving such a wonderful guest while being fostered at Carolines. He loves meeting people, being with other greys and is now becoming accustomed to other breeds. Now that he has proved such a perfect house guest it surely cannot be too long before he is offered his permanent home. He is certainly going to make some lucky family a fantastic companion.

We are all very well , although Teddy is getting very selectively deaf in his old age ,thanks Susy for asking , Carrie even has her hair growing back on her thighs but shes still as mad as anything and still steals anything from under my nose and she worries my slightly that she can stand in front of the woodburner and get so hot without catching fire , Im just looking at her sleeping on my bed as I write this and its making me smile and it makes me so happy that everyday I come back from work she lets me into her home and more importantly she lets me sleep in the bed I once thought was mine ...

We brought this girl home for the morning yesterday and took her on a walk over the fields. She is very lively (which is explained now I see how young she is) with bags of energy and very friendly/loving. We took her with our two greys for a 45 minute walk over the local farmland and she still had the energy to tear around our house with our youngest grey afterwards. Everything was a big new adventure to her - she loved playing with our 5 year old grey but was just as happy to give our older grey her own space and was very quick to make herself at home.
