    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Here is the Josie update. The antibiotics didn't work so we booked her in to have the lump removed today. While she was at the vets they decided it was too risky to operate. They have spent time consulting with a specialist and are pretty sure it's thyroid cancer. They have run some further tests and are going to refer her to an oncology expert to look at all the information and make a decision on the risks, potential options and best ways forward. We are obviously upset but trying to remain positive until we know more. Poor Louis boy who is normally fine has been chewing on the stair gate today he obviously wasn't happy without his big sister at home with him. The good news is although Josie is loosing weight she is eating well, happy in herself and enjoying lots of cuddles and jumbo bones. X

Hi Winniethepooh. Have you tried James with a Thundershirt? I am a recent convert. Silla is terrified of fireworks and every year we have weeks of her refusing to go out for a wee after dark, and being petrified on the worst nights. She used to hide under a blanket, not able to close her eyes or rest. I was quite sceptical about the Thundershirt, but had read some good reviews and thought we had nothing to lose. The change in Silla is remarkable. The other night during a hefty display she was fast asleep, and obviously not stressed. She does still open her eyes when the huge ballistic ones go off, but goes back to sleep again. We take her out the front of the house on the lead for a late night wee, when we think it is safe. Daybreaks stock them, and I honestly think it's the best £30 I have ever spent. No guarantees but must be worth a go. She even seems a little calmer on the lead, which as Ruth will testify really is a miracle!!

So glad Ade is fostered and getting to know the world. With three failed fosters of my own this year (failed as in I have kept them forever) plus my 2 other greys and my baby whippet I couldn't foster Ade aswell!! Its almost a year since he finished racing and so sad he hasn't got his forever home yet. They said at his racing kennel that he loved to sit and watch what was going on and so no surprise that he likes window shopping. Fingers crossed he gets to have Christmas in his forever home. Sending you cuddles Ade. X

Kitty is being absolutely golden.... if not at the kennels! She is good on the lead and great with small fluffy dogs now around the park. She is very clean in the house and great with all of our greys and just loves sleeping on the window seat! She just seems to get so stressed at the kennels so I am going to be leaving her at home during the day where she can be watched on the cameras - and she is fine to be left, as long as she has canine company. If you are interested in seeing her I am happy for people to see her at my house - just give me a call - Ruth 0121 782 7702.
