Happy Gotcha Day Gent. Can't believe it's 4 years ago today! We've got such a bond that sometimes I think you must be human. Daddy's girl Emily likes to play rough and tumble, but you and I prefer 'gent'ler sports, giving kisses and bows for treats. You are my very special boy, my first Greyhound and I'm so happy that you felt we deserved you when you gave me 'the look' at Daybreaks. Something special for tea and I might even share my breakfast bacon sarnie in a bit. Mama x

Hi Daisydog. I have been such a good girl today on my walk to Kingsbury water park and didn't stop once, well only to have a sniff at all the new things and look at the ducks! Mom and Dad were so pleased. Thanks for all the advice and mom is going to leave her jumper on my bed when they go out so I can snuggle up to it. Lots of hugs Mandy xx

Just spent most of the day with the lovely Joey at the Stratford upon Avon Awareness Day...what a wonderful lad he is! So friendly with everyone who came to say hello (and there were lots!) and not bothered by any other dogs. He is an absolute cuddle monster!! He was so well behaved...totally relaxed - he even had a little snooze at 1 point. If there was a space at our, this little man would be filling it...hope he gets his forever home soon.

Daisydog here. ' I stop when mum takes me out sometimes too. I get a bit scared of new places and can become a statue if I see or hear something that spooks me. Mum uses the ttouch wrap which really helps me. Julie Sadler at training is the lady to speak to. My mum always encourages me but never forces me and sometimes we just turn round and go another way. And when I was very new and left on my own she would give me one of her old unwashed tshirts to cuddle up to while she went out. I am a big brave girl now and mum just goes out quietly and I mostly never realise she has gone out. Training really helped me make lots of new chums and I get to meet lots of boys. Its fab. I on't think I will ever be a girl who likes big long walks, especially if its wet or windy or a little chilly but I am very happy with my squeaky duck and a biscuit.' xx

Mandy

Hi, thought we would let everyone know how Mandy is getting on now she is 2 weeks into her months trial with us. She is certainly a little food monster and constantly on the search for food and can be in the kitchen in less than a second if she thinks there is something to eat! On a good point though is if we are eating at the table we do ignore her and she will go and lie down on her bed. She is very playful and will play fetch with the ball, she brings it back for you to throw again and I must admit we could do with a longer garden as she quite often has to put the brakes on as she hurtles towards the back fence!!! She is very good on the lead and does not pull although it does take quite a lot of encouragement to get her to go out. She has taken to stopping for no apparent reason over the last few days and not always in the same place, we give her lots of encouragement and this tends to get her going again but not sure why this is happening-any ideas all you grey owners as we are newbies and have had labradors in the past. Her big test is over the next 2 weeks when she will be left on her own for longer periods as our son has gone back to uni and we will be out earning the pennies! Fingers crossed x
