Hi Julez1, Meg doesn't seem bothered with other breeds, she tends to ignore or avoid them apart from the puppy that jumped up her in Sutton Park - she didn't like that one bit! No idea about cats, we haven't met any yet and I don't think she's lived with one. We could cat test her at the kennels if you like?

Hi I buy two sorts for mine ... for them to gnaw and chew and have sparkly teefs I buy weight bearing bones (from my raw meat supplier).. they usually have a knuckle at the end or marrow in it ... cos they're weight bearing they are very strong so I take them off the dogs once all the meat etc been eaten. Weight bearing bones (according to my vet) can break dogs teeth so I also feed ribs which dogs can gnaw but aren't weight bearing .... Lots of raw feeders swear by chicken bones but I'm a bit neurotic and I think they can be swallowed whole by a grey so I feed minced chicken with bones minced up ... you can bash the chicken wings to break the chicken bones but I'm too laxy 🙂 Never ever feed cooked bones as they can splinter and cause serious problems, some people will tell you raw bones can too but my vet says the benefits outweigh any risk .. and I am careful with them. Always separate your dogs if feeding high value snacks like bones .. even the best of friends will fall out 🙂 Julie x

What a sad situation. I'm sorry to hear Lily's owner has been so ill but pleased to hear she is on the mend. Wishing her a full and speedy recovery. I met Lily and her owner at training and they had a lovely bond this must have been such a difficult decision to make. Lily is beautiful and has a great personality I hope she finds a home very soon. X

  • Sparky

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

We took Sparky to the Vets today for his annual booster, he was so well behaved. The Vet was very pleased with him, he even remarked on how good a condition his teeth were in. Sparky is now in his third week with us and is settling in very well, totally house trained, takes stairs in his stride, does not pester at meal times, sleeps through the night, enjoys his walks , likes his basket but ignores the settee! He is such lovely boy I find it hard to believe he has been in the kennels such a long time. Granted he gets excited at the sight of a cat, squirrel etc. but we have not found this a major handicap (our Shane, who is sadly no longer with us, was far worse) . In my opinion he will flourish in a quiet home where he is the only dog.I hope someone out there will consider this beautiful boy as he has much to offer.
