Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
It was a proper wintry start this morning - frost everywhere!! Can't say I am too happy about that at all!! Thanks to the Friday Team for their hard work during what turned into a busy day. Morning & afternoon walks were done, worked around health checks, teeth cleaning, bedding sorting, a homing as well as arrival & admission procedures for our 2 new black beauties. Tiff went off to the Vets this morning for a check up following her dental earlier in the week - and came back to kennels to find herself reserved! Great news for this little sweetheart. Our 2 newbies Pops & Jess are both lovely. Understandably a little bemused at finding themselves in a strange place with strange people, so lets hope they have a good first night and start to settle soon. x It was lovely to see Tina off to her new home this afternoon, wishing her & her new family many happy times ahead. x We had a kind donation of a very large George Barclay dog bed - it would happily accommodate a large Grey (or 2 smaller ones!!) so if you are in need of a large bed please give the kennels a call. A quick message to the attendees of last Sunday's Halloween Howl - many of you left without taking your candles with you. I know by the end of the ceremony we were all cold & damp and just made a dash for the exit!! but your candles are safe at the kennels for you to collect the next time you pop in - just ask. Very sadly we have a returnee to the kennels tomorrow due to his owner being taken very ill - Buddy who is 12 and has been out in a home for 6 years. Let's hope we can get this elder gent back out into a home as quickly as possible. Well, the weekend is here again. I shall be raising my glass later to all Daybreaks residents, the kennels is bursting at the seams again, and wishing for forever homes for them all soon. Whatever you are up to this weekend stay safe & warm, and hope your hounds don't get too distressed by the fireworks that I am sure will plague us all over the next few days. Cheers!! Angie xx

I’m Homed
I had a chat with Star's new Mum today, and she has asked me to pass on the following:- "Star has settled brilliantly, she is eating & sleeping well, has happily met all the family and many visitors, and has slotted in like she has always been there. She is much loved already - a dream". So lovely to hear such a great update - well done Star. x

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
There was a real Autumnal feel in the air today but it stayed dry! Thanks so much to everyone who helped make sure all of our residents got morning and afternoon walks. :). Mikey was very lucky and got to go out for a few hours to the park! As usual he was such a good boy and had a lovely time. 🙂 Xxx Tiff came back to the kennels after being fostered for a few days after her neutering operation on Monday. She received a glowing report from the lovely family who fostered her. Xxx Alan and James went to the warehouse for us...thank you so much! The van behaved itself and thankfully it started fine when it was time to come back to the kennels. :))) Shirley, Richard and Denise were kept busy doing a little craft work for Ruth. :)) There is a Christmas Fete in her local village on Saturday. She and Andy will be there with a stall to help raise money for Daybreaks. Xxx Ruth wasn't too well today, hoping she will feel better for Saturday and be able to enjoy the event. Xxx We have two new arrivals tomorrow a boy and a girl...:))) Thinking of Simon and Lynne and their three beautiful Greyhounds tonight. Such a lovely family. Sending them lots of love. Xxx Kate Xxx

We are so grateful to Hannah and Stu for looking after Tiff since her neutering operation on Monday. She has had a lovely time and has shown what a wonderful girl she is! Thanks to Hannah's Mum for her very positive comments regarding Tiff's needs for a gluten free diet. Fingers crossed this beautiful girl will soon find her forever home. 🙂 Xxx

Took Mikey out today. What a pleasure he was walked so well on his lead we went to Sheldon Country Park. Wasnt phased by the cows. Met a lady with a Beagle they got on so well and we all walked together for about 20 minutes. A couple of people commented how lovely he looked in his coat he's such a handsome boy. He was tired on way back couldn't keep his eyes open lol. He really deserves a lovely forever home he's fabulous.

Tiff has just been with my daughter for a couple of days post surgery. What a poppet! She settled immediately with her two greys and was a lovely house guest. During her stay we took her out and about both on her own and with the other hounds and she was perfect. Yesterday we went to the riverbank and then on to a farmers market where she charmed all the students at Sutton Bonnington Campus, really she was a star. We feed both her greyhounds and my terriers on a wheat free diet just in case they eat each others food on house visits, its so easy to do this we no longer think about the "wheat free" thing. Once you have read a few labels and know which brands have not added wheat to their product ( why would you?) you just shop accordingly. It's no more trouble that picking your dogs favourite brand. I want to add this because Tiff's diet should cause no trouble whatsoever. Anyway, please consider this girl for your home, you will love her!

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
What a fantastic day today. Crazy busy. Thanks to our Wednesday walkers, Denise, Bella, Chris and Annie for all the I help today. Firstly, Wanda now Molly was homed, this was followed by Star. Little Tina was reserved, such a busy day. Denise and Bella cleaned the chicken house, I looked at the monitor with the camera views only to see chickens in the top kitchen run waiting patiently to return to their nice clean home! Ruth was in and had lots of Christmas stuff out in the back kitchen! She did leave a little early to take Simon and Lynn's Skip and Sam to visit Simon who is sadly very poorly. For those who don't know Si is now in Marie Curie hospice in Solihull. He has been tremendous supporter of Daybreaks together with Lynne. There is a just giving page set up that he asked Ruth to do, he wants to help secure the future of the kennels which are currently rented. If you can please donate via the link on Facebook, we understand not everyone can donate, if you can't please share this information. This would be true legacy that Simon is so passionate about. Thank you x
