Really sorry to hear you had to let your beautiful girl go. My thoughts are with you. So unfair....but I hope as the pain fades you will remember happy times. I feel for Max too but hope he's enjoying Darla's company xx

  • Dingo

    I’m Homed

Dingo has made me really proud! On Monday at training he did well with "stay" and weaving in and out of the other greys and today he did his first off lead. It was at the end of a long walk around the park and he ran about three or four circuits of the field, he then came back, we put his lead back on and went to the bistro for a drink. I did feel like I might have a heart attack when he was close to the car park but I know how much he enjoyed it so I will persevere and do it again tomorrow. Please keep your thoughts with him to keep him safe. I love my boy so much. X

It took a good hour of determination & treats lots of treats to get Bonnie to sit she does it great now without the treats and when we go for our daily walks she sits sometimes when I stop ! So persevere and keep up with it he'll get it ! We're going to Sally's training session on Tuesday as there is none Monday be good to see how Bonnie will be with the other breeds of dogs ,but all in all she has really settled in well and enjoying family life.We are so glad we hooked up with daybreaks and thanks Ruth & Jill for all your help finding our gorgeous Grey !

  • Sparky

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

I took Sparky, Daybreaks current longest stayer, to training this morning. He jumped straight in the back of the car and travelled really well. He seemed interested in watching what was going on at training. He was pretty overwhelmed which is completely understandable as it is a new experience and he has only ever been in kennels. He was anxious but did not bark or growl, all he tried to do was head for the door. He was good with the greyhounds he met and did not seem bothered by any of the other breeds of dogs there. He did not eat his treats as he was too interested in watching what was going on. Thank you to everyone who tried their tasty treats with Sparky but I think it was all too new for him. Sparky's body language did change over the two hours and he was definitely more relaxed towards the end. Sparky needs someone to show him the world is not a scary place. He will need someone to reassure him it's safe out there. I am so proud of him for his first big event out of the kennels. I really hope someone will give this lovely boy a chance very soon. Good luck Sparky.

    I’m Homed

I still love Dexter!! And was just a tiny bit happy and selfish that he was at the kennels today for me to snuggle with!! 😉 he will make someone or a family very happy! He may be big but he's not bouncy in your face and over the top, he is caring and all he wants to do is lean on U for a hug, today he was so funny, he trapped me in the kennel and wouldn't let me leave, he's so cute and amazing. I can imagine him sitting with one lucky person on their sofa snuggling while watching tv!! He's the best. X
