We really do need to educate our friends over the sea so that they can appreciate what wonderful pets these hounds make a year in Ireland waiting a home but only a few days at Daybreaks. Fabulous for Lou but it is so sad the number of hounds over there waiting for a home or who don't even get the chance.Lou you are in for a lovely life.

Brilliant - we were talking about this boy at training this morning and saying with the right TLC this boy will be a stunner.

What wonderful news, I'm so pleased he's turned up safe and well, I couldn't get to sleep last night thinking about him - his family must have been absolutely frantic. I'll bet he's getting lots of cuddles today! Mand x

Donations have now reached over £500! Thank you so very very much. The update from his mum is: there is no mass or abnormalities that can be seen inside his body.his blood is ok just showing lower protein levels which we are going to check as there is a chance it's not being absorbed n just passed out,if that's the case a gut biopsy will be done and medication shud b avaliable, his other possibility is a blood disease/cancer which will mean bone marrow biopsy if the protein isn't getting passed out, this would mean very little they could do and we also just going to do a strong intensive worming programme just to check its not a worm burden but it looks unlikely.this morning his lymph glands appeared big but scan showed them to be ok and his weight has now dropped to 28kg 🙁 a long way from his healthiest at almost 35kg as he is a big boy.so we are waiting for his urine test which will come back middle of next week which will hopefully prove his body isn't absorbing protein but then surgery will b needed and again my pocket will b even lighter but thank u all so much for your donations I am truly grateful x

  • Daisy (Dee)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

A little note about Daisys progress. This week we went to Kenilworth castle and daisy, wearing her thundershirt, only took small encouragement to get out of the car. We walked, with many stops, to the castle entrance and into the grounds for about 5 minutes. It was reasonably quiet and several people wanted to say hello to daisy but her tail was so between her legs it was almost touching her nose. However this is proper progress for my girl - and of course once at home she was whizzing round the garden and rolling for a tummy tickle on the rug. The farmer has been muck spreading in the field where I walk her at the back of my house and she has discovered how easy it is to roll in - even with a harness on. Daisy just loves it....and would eat it if she could! So there are small but significant changes in my girls life....and it is lovely to see. Always a golden girl in the house and so full of bounce and love when she greets me if I have been out. She always runs into the garden and does three or four laps of her cicrcuit round the disappearing lawn.Well done Daisy. x
