Well the lovely georgous and perfect Spotty has had a nice time with the Healds and if lovely Beryl had not been waiting in the wings to take over we would have fostered her longer. Ive said it before and I will say it again.......this girl is just soooo loving and perfect in every way, she would have made an excellent P.A.T dog. Im sure some one will be along soon to snap her up as she has no bad points at all. 🙂 xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Very sorry to hear of the sad loss of Liam; what a lovely way to describe him as "the Brad Pitt of the Greyhound world". I do hope everything works out well for pluto. xxx

Brilliant, glad it worked. If you need something a little more heavy-duty, we used a washing up glove, which Ruth had recommended and that worked great too, although I'm sure Emily would say it did her street-cred not good at all! Bet Lola enjoyed her little walk, it's weird just walking one isn't it? Hope all goes okay tomorrow, let us know how you all get on. Take care and see you soon. Mand x

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hi everyone. As you know I have a new home !! Well.. what can I say. The bed is brillant, food good, treats to die for BUT... I have to ask your help. You see my new pets have read the wrong books and been given very poor advice. Is there anyone out there who can help a poor grey called Fearn. My pets are completly clueless. They seem to think that when they close the "stable door" (am I a horse??) I am expected to STAY in the kitchen. REALLY !! I just jump over it and then they seem put out that I want to follow them around. ANOTHER thing ..... please someone explain that their bed is big enough for the three of us. My mother pet was upset that I wanted to share the bed.... all children want to sleep with mum and dad surely. I think if I whine a lot and cry... maybe they will give in and let me share. What do you think Auntie Ruth..... Could you please put in a word for me. ove Fearn

Oh Pluto this comment has really made my day !! I am an emotional type and so when I read this I sat at my comuptor with tears ( of joy ) for you !! I just could not understand why you and Henry had to wait sooo long for a home of your own, you are so affectionate and just lay in your run with the others watching all the comings & goings at the kennels !! I really am so happy for you, I hope to be able to give you a last kiss when I come to the kennels on sunday morning !! well done big boy xxx

Hi rumblesmom - this comment is for real as I read a heartbreaking email from the Parr Family that they had their beloved Liam put to sleep very suddenly. Liam was definitely the Brad Pitt of the greyhound world - a very handsome boy who was fabulous in nature. Big hugs go to them all... xxxx

Awwwww Lola, hope that foot heals up soon. The glove thing worked really well for Red too, kept his bandage lovely & dry - and you know how wet it was last year. Andre actually put a glove under the grip bandage as a permenant feature, but of course Reds wound was higher up than Lolas, so not quite the same wound care. (loads of vet powder to soak up any moisture produced by the skin too). luv t

  • George (Stevie Sunshine)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hi All & especially Deb, George has continued to improve all aspects of his behaviours - Yippee. He hasn't had "an accident" in the house for nearly 2 weeks, has accepted that No means No and slinks off when he is told, and although his theiving days are not over, he isn't so intense anymore (mind you we have all become very vigilent in keeping doors shut & things up high or in cupboards). George is also becoming a very loving boy. He especially loves his morning cuddle and fuss, but will take it any time of day. He has the loveliest look of Please adore me! The welcome I get when I arrive home is wonderful, he is so pleased to see us all. So all in all he is turning into a very precious boy, and I will be sad to see him go - on that note, Please can another fosterer come forward for him as I'm now in the process of selling & packing up my house, (thats a trauma in itself), so its all a bit unsettling. I got lump in my throat today as I watched him bound about thinking, I'm going to miss this lad, as he has fitted in so well with Reubes & Blossom - Bloss will be v upset too as they get on really well. Oh and he still sits for his treat, thats the only way he gets it - stops the daft leaping up nonsense!! And I can take said treats off him if I ask nicely - GIVE, so he is a very good boy this way. And dont forget he is an angel to walk - so laid back, no pulling at all. luv t

Hi Mand....I tried a thin surgical glove over the dressing taped on with micropore as you suggested. It worked a treat and it went a good way up her dressing too! Practised inthe garden this morning and after tea I took her for a little walk up our street with the glove and then the drip bag over that (that was over the dressing when she came out of vets last wed). She had a lovely stroll - the first one in a week bless! xxx
