Frosty and Spirit were collected from the vets today following their big day for being neutered! I have brought the girls home and they are quietly settled and sleeping off their anaesthetic.... they are both so adorable x

  • Motte

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hello sal - I can't imagine how hard it has been for u, motte is such a gentle and cuddly boy who nudges and nudges at you until you give him some fuss! He is doing really well here and is very settled. There was a slight argument between him and Milly and poor boy has a slight gouge under his eye but it seems to be healing well. Don't be put off by that - I feel he would actually do best in a home with other greys as he can be quite clingy to me! It was just a typical small disagreement over a treat which happens so often in those situations with multiple dogs. He has been fine to be left during the day and with training can live with cats. He is a dream dog!! I did send Ruth a photo which maybe she could upload? Thanks!!

I am really happy to learn that Derry has settled in so well but to be honest it doesn't surprise me. He is such a great natured dog and I am sure he is loving having a friend to play with too - bonus!

    I’m Homed

Misty is at the vets today for dental treatment, scale and polish and hopefully no extractions. On Monday she pulled free from Douglas' hand in order to chase a cat which neither of us had seen. She is very cat reactive! Luckily the cat hid under a parked car and Misty allowed herself to be caught. When we got home she was dripping blood everywhere and we found she had grazed her feet and ripped off part of her pad in the scuffle. Poor Misty--wonder if it will put her off chasing cats

  • Honey

    I’m Homed

Well what can I say; Honey looked absolutely petrified, nervous and sad, when we got her home nine days ago. Today, we are looking at a completely different Honey. Although still nervous, Honey has made massive improvements, and is starting to relax more in our environment. Sunday, 7th of October We've brought Honey home, and she looks petrified and really nervous. She’s been in her bed all day; my daughter has sat with her on the floor and fed her dinner by hand. Tonight honey has had to be carried to bed, although she didn't sleep much. She was still dry in the morning. Monday 8th of October Honey had to be carried downstairs this morning, she went outside for toileting, honey wouldn't eat her breakfast until the kids had gone to school, she did go for a walk round the furniture and then return to bed until teatime, Honey didn't eat have any of her dinner. Bedtime was very much the same from the night before didn't sleep much very restless. Tuesday, 9th of October Honey had to be carried downstairs again this morning. She has eaten some of her breakfast but stayed in her bed all day except for a walk around the block. At teatime we fed honey and she has eaten it all. Bedtime tonight we are doing to try and walk Honey up the stairs one step at a time (very slow and back breaking) but she did it. Well Done Honey!! Tonight when he decided to pinch the door wedge and hide it in her bed. But I soon recovered that and placed in a draw. At 2.00 this morning we were woken because honey had decided it was time to play a she had great fun rolling around the bed pouncing around. We thought this was really funny. Honey is starting to relax!!! She settled about an hour later. Wednesday, 10th of October When he had to be carried downstairs again this morning, as she refused point blank to walk. She's eaten all of her breakfast, she didn't move around much today but she looked more relaxed in her bed. Today on our walk we came across our first obstacles honey does not like anyone or anything behind her i.e., prams, scooters, people but that's OK we can work on that. Bedtime this evening was a lot easier as she attempted a couple of steps on her own. At 2.00am Honey's Playtime she was bouncing my slippers off the walls, I know you shouldn't laugh, that this is so nice to see. When I got out of bed to collect my slippers I was greeted with the wagging tail. That was really nice. Thursday, 11th of October Breakfast was a lot easier today, honey stayed in bed and we tried treats to encourage her out of bed, but she would only come halfway out. Generally Honey he is showing more interest today lifting her head and shoulders to look around if she hears anything and has also noticed when her for the dog keen is playing with her Toys, you can tell by the look on Honey's face that she wants to join in, does not know how to. This will come naturally as she relaxes and settles more into our environment Honey, is an absolute joy to be around, loving, and gentle. We have seen a massive change in her personality, her stress levels have halved. Keep up the good work Honey Kind Regards David
