Thank you all for your kind comments about Bob. He was my Gentle Giant and the loss is felt by the whole family.Lush (Kirsty, as was) is going a long long way towards helping fill the gap (and the one on the sofa). She's really bonded with Guzzi, follows him everywhere, and is settling in more every day. The cat is not so sure but we're working on it. Looks like Ruth's picked us out another good 'un.

Hi tianaj! Minnie, my greyhound, is ok with our chickens. She is alright with smaller dogs too. (If they run / bounce around she can get a bit keen, but nothing that time and a bit of training can't fix. When introduced gently though she is absolutely fine with them.) She does like cats, but I think she isn't so keen on the chickens as they move very differently and don't go anywhere near as fast. I wouldn't trust her roaming with the chickens in the garden (we wouldn't trust our retrievers out there with them) but she ignores them when they are in the run and when they are right next to our french windows. 🙂 I've also taken her out on a lead and muzzle with the chickens loose and she just looked at them with her ears pricked when they ran around. The chickens (daft things that they are) came right up to me and the dog and Minnie was interested, but only mildly.

We had a lovely walk today didn't we Max? You're such a beauty, so well behaved and friendly. Although I love to see you, I hope you're not in kennels for much longer - you deserve your own, forever home. xx

hi. My old greyhound looked just like this pretty girl. My old one was so well behaved with other small dogs and our chickens. What are the chances of me finding another one the same? Keep thinking about getting another greyhound but it would have to accept the chickens so keep putting it off. mmmm temptation lol

Minnie really enjoyed her time at the kennels today - spoilt is the word I am looking for I think! She is no less spoilt when she comes home though, I just picked up some lovely (from the dog's point of view, not mine) cow ribs for them all from the farmer and I don't think that Minnie has ever been so enthralled in her entire life. She has had a good day. 🙂 Also I think she is grasping the concept of 'sit'! I can't tell you how happy I was that she did it yesterday, I have been trying to get her to do it for a while but I never catch her at the right time. She didn't quite remember today but the way she moved you could see the little cogs in her head working. Bless, she is so sweet and I adore her to pieces. I couldn't have asked for a more loving, cheeky and entertaining dog, she really is so fantastic that words do her no justice.

Hi deb. thank you, that really means a lot. All the dogs that are in our care at the racing kennels are truly adored and loved by everyone. It's difficult not to get attached to such wonderful dogs so I do get to know them very well. Even though it's hard to write down exactly how amasing the dogs are, i do try my best 🙂 .
