Hi lady victoria, yes it is very hard to say goodbye to the greys that leave us at the kennels especially ones that have being there for so long but i take comfort in seeing pictures of them on the facebook page running in the garden or lieing on sofa, enjoying there retired life. Well done my handsome bee! My boss told me that billy has moved to great barr, which is were i live so hopefully i will see him around the park sometime 🙂 x

It turns out my poor pearl has a broken tail, no wonder she cries when she knocks it. Got to wait & see what the trust vet says on Tuesday now, possibly another anaesthetic, I can't believe it. Poor girl, lots of snuggles when daddy brings you home from seeing auntie Ruth xxx

Pearl is being such a good girly. Her tail is still sore & needs a bandage but at least it isn't a blood bath when she takes it off now. She is a bit of a foodie but nothing like the Fredanator (as her new sister is known!)!!! Pigs ears do not last long do they my darling girl!

Well Freda has a new skill - she can open the dishwasher to get at dirty plates that need licking clean unless you shut the door until it clicks! This girl has so much personality, she makes us laugh x

Magic

Day 1 nearly over with Magic. So far no problems with Cleo, he likes being in the car, he likes food / treats, he likes fuss and toys. So far so good!! He has masters the stairs and has had a good nosey around. He has had a good grooming and has had some Aloe Vera rubbed on his belly. He has had a walk down the canal tonight and when he has become a little unnerved with new things he has sort confidence from Cleo. He looked really smart tonight with his new stars and stripes collar, his new navy blue jacket and his bright yellow muzzle. He also nearly mastered to Sit for a treat...he is in for some more training tomorrow. He is now lying in front of the sofa having some fuss!!

After going to a roadshow at Becketts Farm wth me today I am very happy to report that lovely Nana has gone home with the equally lovely Carline on trial, which I am sure will be successful, so happy for you Nana, be a good girl and hope to see you sometime, I'll miss you at the kennels. xxx

Monty (Mickey)

Mickey has spent a few hours at a roadshow today. What a charmer he is, he loves attention and lots of cuddles.He attracted many admiring glances and just lapped up all the attention he was getting. This big boy just loves being around people and he is one of those special greys that likes to lean on you. He loved the company of the other greyhounds today and he coped well with the massive thunderstorm and down pour we had. Mickey travelled brilliantly in the car and I think he was a bit disappointed to be returned to kennels after his little adventure. He is the original cuddle monster and will make a lovely pet but beware he will have you fussing and cuddling him all day long.

Rick

We had to make a really sad decision with Rick and have returned him to Daybreaks through no fault of his own. We were prepared to deal with the challenges of adopting a greyhound but Rick presented none of these. He was clean in the house, quickly learned to stay away from the table when we were eating and was completely unfazed by the dishwasher and vacuum. He even tackled the stairs without prompting! He settled really well after a walk and his dinner. Unfortunately our four year old daughter has had an extreme stress reaction to having a dog in our house and we felt that it was unfair to both her and Rick to continue with the situation. Rick did absolutely nothing to cause her reaction, he was fantastic with both of the kids and enjoyed lots of cuddles from our six year old son. We hope Rick will find a home where he can relax and enjoy being part of the family, he's a gorgeous boy and truly deserves it.

Thought it was about time I gave an update on The Hamster. His digestive system is still giving us both a bit of jip, so he is currently on rice, pasta and tuna to try and flush his system out before trying to re-introduce dog food. Apart from that, he is loving the home life. He is so cuddly and sweet, very chilled out but still with a lot of character. He is great with the kids, even a 3 year old, which is just as well as (still a bit of a secret so not on FB) I'm pregnant, so he will have a baby brother or sister to deal with early next year. I'm confident that he will be a dream, even if there is a tiny bit of jealousy to start with, but of course, I will not take any silly chances. So, when he turns 5 in a few days, he will be spoilt rotten. So just a normal day then lol xxxx
