I have given my cuddle to fire today (as is my recent ritual!) but now i wished i'd have given it to poor huggie. I always feel most sad about the dogs who are returned, who have known a comfy sofa. It must be so distressing for them and for their ex family. Bless im! Hope he finds somewhere ASAP XX

Huggie has been returned today after being in a home since January 2011 by his owner who was very upset. He is good with other greys as the family did have another but returned her last year after she kept escaping from their home. I have been told that he knocked over a child belonging to a friend yesterday and the comments on the return form state 'He went for one of the grandchildren'. He is extremely stressed at being back at the kennels and crying a lot and due to the comments from his owner, he would be best homed with older children or someone without children.

Marty (Arty)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Just an update on Marty and Misty to say we are all doing a lot better at walking round the village without too many reactions to other dogs and cats. In fact they now totally ignore 2 little yappies that we regurlarly pass. They still react to Patch but we are getting better at dealing with it so it doesn't get out of control. A couple of weeks ago Marty was quite poorly with an inflamed gut and passed an alarming amount of blood so had to have antibiotics and steroids. We also changed his diet back to Burns which has calmed down his digestive system. We are back at the vets with him on Monday as he has something strange happening with his left eyelid and they need to monitor it, will keep you posted.

Just a quick update....Bob was very good in the car, had a little snooze on the M42. Had a good look at the garden, investigated the house (leapt up the stairs, straight onto the spare bed and came down fine on his own) He was so chilled, no panting, shaking or whining at all. Had some tea (ate it all nicely) and then went for nice walk in fields with my friend who has had lots of greys. She was sooo impressed at how calm Bob is - he showed no stress at all. He is now in a quiet room on a cosy bed while I have my dinner. Had a little whinge for about a minute, but soon settled. I am so pleased he's not upset.....he may be saving it all up for the night! Such a lovely boy! Thanks for all your help and time today Ruth! xx
