    Over the Rainbow Bridge

We have just got home with the lovely Rosie B. She was bitten during the night which sadly can easily happen if perhaps one treads on another - there is no animosity between Rosie and her kennel mate Bailey and it shows what good character Rosie is to not have reciprocated.... Our greyhound Maggie had the same thing happen to her just over a year ago when she jumped on Joe while he was asleep in his bed (we had this captured on the cameras whilst we were out). Therefore this does not reflect badly on poor Bailey who is really looking very down at the moment.

    I’m Homed

Freda would like to report that she has been to a place called Blooms Garden Centre today. She would also like it to be known that she has mastered the things called "stairs" and can go up and down beautifully. She has learned to sit for her treat and although food is of huge importance, she does listen and responds well. A second quiet, clean night - this girl is an absolute treasure and thinks she quite likes this living at home thing! x

This really is sad sad news. My heart goes out to you as i recently went through losing one of my greys very very suddenly, she was only 5 and luckily i had a few months longer with her than you had with M(Arty). I've also been reading his story and keeping up to date with his progress and re-homing. I was very tempted at one stage myself but thought 3 was too much. You gave him a wonderful few months with lots and lots of love and care. Sending you big hugs and best wishes and RIP M(Arty)... the cute guy with the bestest roman nose 🙂

That is so so sad. I remember becoming addicted to reading about (m)arty and his quest for a sofa. And loving that photo of his snout almost touching the camera lens. It's silly isn't it, it's made me cry reading about it, and i never even knew him! These dogs really do touch our hearts. Best wishes XX

We are devestated by the loss of beautiful Marty today after sharing our lives with him for only four short months. Besides the large tumour some of his gut was found to be perforated. Even with that distressing condition he had continued to enjoy his walks and loved his cuddles. He had setted down such a lot with other dogs and cats round the village and was becoming a really responsive dog. It seems so unfair that he had to lose his life to disease at the age of just six ths week. As I said to Ruth he taught us so much about how to be with a greyhound. We shall miss him terribly and always remember him. In tears for him x

Poor Rosie has been bitten and is now at the vets being stitched up as we speak. She will come home with me tonight for a bit of extra TLC until she is better.

It is with great sadness that I have just heard that Marty has gone to Rainbow Bridge. The vets found a large tumour which was inoperable and sadly they let him go. He was a fabulous character and I will miss him very much. Run free fella x

I have spoken to Jack's new owner Nicky today and he is doing fantastic! Despite one of the Bengal cats almost screaming at him on a regular basis, he is taking everything in his stride and is the perfect house guest. Nicky seems to even think he is clever enough to recognise certain areas as his first home is not far from where he is now living. I am really pleased things are working out for this fella.

My Jojo Very handsome boy. His a lovely grey, who loves attention and fuss. Will stand there and let you groom him and clean ears/teeth. Walks well on the lead, doesn't pull 🙂 . Once he settles down he won't be shy, his true nature will come through. He does bark when its meal time but settles down once his being fed. He was an excellent runner and really loved his racing so he deserves a loving forever retired home 🙂 I'm sure you won't be here long my boy xxxxxx
