Billy
I’m Homed
Oh Billy, this sounds promising, you deserve a loving forever home...Shelly, Billy stayed with me and my 2 boys for a few weeks whie Daybreaks was being beautified and he was a gorgeous house mate! I'm sure Ruth has filled you in on his history...he was very gentle and respectful of my children, who are 10 and 11 years old, they have been brought up around dogs and understood the rules of how to behave around a dog, but, because of Billy's history, we had extra rules to help him feel safe...they were told to be calm around him, not to stroke him when he was lying down but to call him over to them if they wanted a cuddle from him. He was happy with them running around playing near him, but I was always mindful to let him know he didn't need to worry. He's very interested in high noises, squeeky toys, whistling etc and I can see that he would find a young childs high voice, whether upset, happy or excited, very interesting/confusing and he'd need to be told not to worry. He is a beautiful hound inside and out who deserves the next home to be his forever one, we loved having him stay with us and if it wasn't for my sensible husband, he would have been our number 4 dog (boo to sensible husbands!) I'll keep my fingers crossed for a happy ending xxxx

Jack
Over the Rainbow Bridge
I was really sad for Jack and his new owner, that it wasnt to be. Now its really fantastic that hes almost been snapped up again so quickly. Im really confident that the meeting with the cats will be good. He was absolutely fine when he came to our house to visit little Milly. He was muzzled for all of 10 mins for the sniffing when he first met the cat, but showed no desire to chase or anything else. He used to get a bit surprised when the cat rubbed passed his legs as if to say 'thats tickling me, what do you want me to do???' He saw the cat as part of the house/family. He is such a lovely hound. He has a very calm gentle energy about him. Youre going to be great on sunday, arnt you Jack? Massive cuddle, and whippety kisses, clare & little milly

Beau
I’m Homed
Quick update on Beau. She is such a beautiful girl and settled in with her new family immediately. She loves her brother Derry and follows him everywhere. It seems as if we have had her always:) She has great recall, easy on the lead, and loves to play with her toys. Thank you Ruth for all your help. xxxx

Buddy (Arthur)
I’m Homed
Arthurs doing really well. He's started to join us in the lounge on his bed. He's met plenty of other breeds out on walks and he's been brilliant. Also at the moment we're getting him used to one of our visiting dog friends Ruby a cocker spaniel. He likes to chase her round the garden, play bowing to her so she might catch him (not likely lol).

Jack
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Jack desperately needs his 'forever home' as soon as possible. I felt so sad leaving him at the kennels tonight but I gave him the big kennel with the kitchen run and he was sleeping soundly as I locked up. He is going to meet some Bengal cats on Sunday and fingers crossed - if all goes well, he will have a lovely home with Nicola and her son as I have just picked up a message that Nicola is very interested in adopting him after meeting him today 🙂

Aw Jack, I was so surprised to see your name back up here for rehoming. =( I am really sorry for your owner as well, I am sure it was not an easy choice to give you up. Ruth, if you would like us to look after Jack again, so he isn't staying in kennels, then just let me know. =)

Magic is a beauty - a big, strong boy who is alert and interested whilst out walking, but is so good and just loves a fuss and a cuddle. Hope your new home is just around the corner sweetheart - you really deserve it. Xx

Maurice (Sheldon)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
It's actually going to break my heart taking Sheldon back, sad thing is he doesn't know yet, he's totally oblivious as he lies there on the floor, legs up in the air asleep! He's been a pleasure to have around. Mr Sheldon is a shy boy, he loves attention but can be left alone with our other greyhound without him whining or barking for short periods. He's an inquisitive chap and mimics a kangaroo when he gets excited about something!! (I have informed Marney, this is not the new thing to do!!) Unfortunately now is the wrong time for us to have two dogs, else he would definitely have a green sign next to his name! I really hope and believe he will make a wonderful companion to someone who has the time, patience, and dedication in teaching him the ropes of basic obedience etc... He is a quick learner. At present I am not convinced how he'd be around small pets as he gets easily distracted on walks. I hope this is something he will overcome with time and training. Good luck my boy xxx (eyes blurring as writing this!!)
