Brilliant 🙂 Thanks so much for the updates on this absolutely wonderful, beautiful (inside and out) shiney black lad! He looks to be settling well (love the new pic) and as a complete 'heat seeker' has worked out the fireplace- bless. Its lovely to hear he has 2 new playmates, and that his fabulous personality is coming out. It was a privilege providing some daycare for Jack, i cannot express just how relieved and pleased I am he has a foster home. Clare, family and Little milly xxxx

Larry is just my kind of dog, so handsome and wonderful temperament. he does not seem bothered by anything at all, we walked him today with other male and female hounds and he is as good as gold. came past the farm with the two manic barking labs and he never even looked at them, i think he is one of life's laid back gents, 🙂 xxx

Hi What a shame, if you still have problems with the healing ask your vet about lasering the wound- I had a horse who had had 10 weeks box rest because a cut on his lower leg wouldn't heal 🙁 The chiropractor I used suggested lasering it to encourage the blood supply, we checked with my vet who ok'd it and the wound healed in a couple of weeks 🙂 All was reclaimable on the insurance too 🙂 Good luck - my young grey is always getting into scrapes too 🙂 Julie xx

Don't be too distressed, this happened to one of our greys when she had a leg amputated due to bone cancer. The original wound didn't heal properly and she had to have a second op to remove the dead skin which left a huge ugly open wound. The vet said it would heal naturally and it did although it took 6 weeks to slowly close over. Best of luck and love to you all and Amber xx

Jack
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Jack was an absolute star overnight. Even when one of ours started barking in a rather excited fashion he remained quiet. After greeting us with many wags of his tail he made a beeline for the back door. He had to wait for our two to finish outside first (didn't want them all leaping round the garden together in case something bad came out of it) and was ever so well behaved. He spent about 10 minutes exploring the garden and made it very clear when he wanted to go back inside as he stood by the back door again. I also discovered that the cat was in the utility - what better time to cat test! I took him in (with my hand full of little cheese cubes) and after some initial whining he soon decided that the cheese was far more interesting than the cat. So it is all looking good there and hopefully I'll be able to build upon that when the cat next ventures into the house. After reading all about his sofa lower down, I realised I had forgot to mention Jack's attempt at getting onto ours. Yesterday Jack decided that the cushions piled up on our sofa were put there just for him - so up he hops and settles down, looking rather pleased with himself. Only problem is, we have a leather sofa. Luckily Jack landed on all the cushions, but I only managed to get him off it by heading into the kitchen with the bowl that I used for lunch. Thank you so much for giving him such a wonderful home for the past 9 months Darryl, it is very clear to see how loved and cared for he was. His coat is in a fantastic condition and he is so well adjusted, he just takes everything in his stride.

Where do I start, what can I say, how do I begin?? Jack, for the past 9 months, you lit up my life. You made me smile, laugh and occasionally curse! You taught me humility, kindness, humour, unconditional love, understanding, patience and devotion. Today was without question, one of the saddest, most upsetting/distressing and heart wrenching experiences I've ever encountered - the tears are rolling down my cheeks as I write this and they haven't stopped all day. You gave me some purpose and for that, and for choosing to be my housemate, I'll always be grateful and will never forget you. I can't tell you how sorry I am that I didnt feel able to continue to give you a wonderful home to chill out in but I do know that the sense of loss is overwhelming and unbearable. You are one in a million Jack and please forgive me that you're not sleeping on your sofa at home tonight. You sound like you've had an exciting day exploring new places and I hope you have many more to come. I love you Jack and I'll never EVER forget you. Goodbye my boy xx

Crazy Freida! shes a lovely girl, who does need to be taught some manners as she can snatch food and be quiet bouncy, but she does learn quickly. She LOVED to race, she was a really good bitch who ran and won alot of races, so she deserves a loving forever home. Friedas very cheeky, she nicked my glove out my pocket and ripped it to pieces and then thought it was a game of "chase" when i tried getting it off her haha. She loves fuss and would stand there all day and let you give her some attention 🙂 Enjoy retired life crazy girl xxxxx
