It is with the greatest sadness I heard of the passing of my friend and volunteer of the Trust, Liz (Freya's mum). Liz had been battling cancer for a long while and we appealed for a home for Freya to go to once Liz was no longer able to look after her. Liz found it very hard seeing her precious girl 'up for homing' so we removed the photos to prevent any further upset for Liz. Liz helped to set up Perry Barr Trust back in 2003 and was a wonderful volunteer until her illness prevented her from doing any more. Happily for Freya, she has now been homed by one of Liz's friends. Rest in Peace Liz - you were an amazing, caring friend. I will miss you greatly but you are no longer suffering xxx

Its great to have Becky home and she's settling well. So along with her new house collar, new coat, new jimmy jams and various new toys she also has a new name...Minnie!! So far she's living up to it as she's been razzing about! HUGE thanks to Ruth and Robbie for everything they've done over the past week we'll back to visit you all soon! Ju, Chris & Minnie xxxxxxxx

Misty

Misty was weighed at the vets yesterday when Maggie went for her quarterly check up. She has put on weight (now 27.10k).Those boney bones are covering nicely. She is not so possessive of her toys now, we have learnt to just give her a hide chew for half an hour under supervision then put it away till next time. Misty is the untidiest dog ever! As soon as the dog beds and toys get tidied up she immediately spreads everything around and plomps down in the middle of the mess---we love her x

Many thanks for all your lovely comments. flick had a wonderful retirement but sadly lost his battle when he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and spinal lesions. It was so hard to let him go but it was only the kindest thing to do. we spoilt him rotten over the last week and we will be scattering his ashes under his favourite plum tree in our garden. RIP my brave boy xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
