    I’m Homed

Paddy has settled in very quickly with us and seems to be pretty happy which is a relief! He is gentle and affectionate and LOVES his bed!! He has eaten really well, behaved on the lead when Lewis took him for a walk and we have managed to brush his teeth too (not madly keen on it but he will stand and let you do it). He has adopted Lewis's bedroom as his favourite sleeping place as he can chill there without being too disturbed. When he feels like company he seeks us out and loves having a good stroke and cuddle. Lewis says he loves him to bits and never wants him to go back 🙂 Tomorrow we are at school and work so will see how he goes being left properly for the first time. He REALLY LIKES pate and cheese!!!

    I’m Homed

This wonderful, bouncy, cuddly, loving lady has been with us for 3 days now and hasn’t put a paw wrong, she is perfectly clean in the house, gets on well with her new 4 footed friend and has settled down as if she has been here forever, I have changed her name to Holly and she answers it already, she is a joy to be around and if I clamp her between my knees when putting her collar on to reduce the bouncing that goes quite smoothly too! She gets very noisy and strong when seeing other breeds out and about but once she gets nose to nose with them she’s fine. I will send photos on when I manage to get one where she isn’t fast asleep with her legs in the air.

I talked to the family who reserved Tina and Joan and told them I felt taking two together at the same time could be harder work. They have therefore taken Tina and will return for Joan hopefully next weekend if all goes well.

    I’m Homed

Stevie was on the Stratford walk today and my 13 year old (non dog owning) neice had the pleasure of walking him. He is an absolute angel on a lead! Everyone commented on how well behaved he was and how nicely he was walking. He ignored all the fluffy little dogs that where running around off lead including a spaniel that darted in front of him.He ignored the dogs that where more reactive and barking. He seemed to enjoy surveying all that was about and seem to find a bunch of crows quite interesting. He didn't pull on the lead was quiet and a perfect gentleman. He really enjoyed the company of the other dogs and clearly loved his walk. At the end of the walk he was really excited and pleased to have a few treats (Liver cake and sausage) and lots of cuddles. Stevie is a lovely big black boy but prospective owners should not be put off by his size he has bags of personality, walks brilliantly and is so friendly that I am sure he will make a wonderful pet. Please take a peek at him when you are visiting the kennels. PS I forget to say he has the tinest, cutiest little ears you have ever seen.

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

I took Kelly to the vets yesterday. Whilst in the waiting room the other clients asked me about her. I told them that she had sadly lost her home but I was concerned about her general health. They asked me about how we get the funding to pay for such things as vet fees and I replied this was through voluntary donations and fundraising events through the volunteers and supporters of the Trust. An elderly couple left with their small dog but then came back into the vets moments later and handed me a donation. It was a very very generous donation of £50! I was overwhelmed at their generosity and this has been put towards the care of Kelly whilst she waits to find another home. We sometimes concentrate on the difficult times we go through but often we are lifted by wonderful people. Thank you to the anonymous people who helped Kelly and to everyone who supports us to help these greys into homes. Kelly is on antibiotics for her urinary problem and inflammed gums and we hope she improves soon.
