Topsy

We had the pleasure of Topsy's company for the night after she was neutered earlier this week. She was a very confident girl and soon got into watching the football on the tv and mastered the stairs, even though she wasn't supposed to be doing anything too energetic!! She was a good girl and let me know when she needed to go into the garden, so we had no accidents. She also enjoyed her meals and generally enjoyed the experience of being in a home....can't say the same for Skip and Lyra who found her a bit pushy! Skip was far from impresssed when she tried to share his bed! She really is a smashing girl who would love a home where there is lots going on for her to join in and have fun. :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

We had two gorgeous new arrivals today. Delli and Millie. 🙂 They are very friendly, happy girls and both enjoyed an outdoor bath! It was quite a lot cooler today, much nicer for walking. Our residents enjoyed moring and afternoon walks. Except for little Topsy Who is still on limited exercise after her neutering operation. She did enjoy a couple of strolls around the sand run with Declan. Thanks so much to everyone for your help today....special thanks to Diane for the homemade lemon cake! :)) Xxx

Joe

I had the pleasure of walking Joe today, my current favourite. I'm a bit surprised that nobody has yet fallen for him as he is a super hound. We had a lovely walk up the lane this afternoon, nice now the heavy heat and humidity has eased. Joe is one of those lovely dogs who never seems fazed by anything, we just strolled along enjoying the day without a care. A cheeky squirrel tried to tease him but Joe didn't even give it a look, he was too busy enjoying his walk. When we returned to his kennel Joe expressed his thanks with a waggy tail and checking if I needed an ear wash! I really hope people are not overlooking him because he had a broken hock. Sometimes he will lift this paw off the ground when he stands still but he has now fully recovered. His trainer paid a visit today and she said he tends to forget its fixed and he can use it normally. I do hope your forever home is not too far away now Joe, I think you would be a good dog for a first time greyhound owner, easy to walk and with a lot of love to give your new family when they arrive xx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
First of all we would like to thank everyone who has left a comment and showed their support. They were all so lovely and are really comforting. We really do appreciate the kind words. It was so shocking and it came out of nowhere for us. He was so happy until his last day. It was a hard day yesterday and we are still trying to get over the shock. He was so loved and everywhere we went he came too. Everyone loved him. I’ll never forget the moments he gave us. His washing up bowl and his weird ways. He is always in our heart. Run Free Russ xx

Sadly Monty is being returned through no fault of his own. He is totally cat friendly however the family cat has not eaten since he arrived and is clearly unhappy. He has apparently been absolutely fantastic and will make an amazing addition to a family.
