Hello, when i brought ellie home she followed me everywhere i went around the house, she also whined even if i was in the bathroom! what i found helped is that when she whined for no apparent reason other then ellie letting me know that she is looking for me is to say a firm NO! she would then just lie down and wait until i was ready for me to make a fuss of her, also have you got other family members who can take it in turns to give her dinner? encourange other family members to take it in turns so that bonny dose not see you as the only person who feeds her and take her for a walk, this will hopefully make her realise that her mom is not the absolute only person who is doing everything for her. In my home my husband takes ellie out every morning for her long walk , my 2 boys take it in turns to feed her and i take ellie out when i return from work in the afternoon, hope this helps. Ann and ellie-may.xx

Thanks for the advice fi, she only does it when i go and sit in the front room and bonny is in the hall way, i have called to her for reassurance too, and she will not venture into the front room either i have put extra matts down so she does not slip as we have laminte floor in the hall way and front room, i guess she will come in when she feels comfortable and safe. Any tips would be good but apart from that she is a fab girlie and a welcomed addition to our family xxxxx

Mum says: Thanks for the advice, I'll be over to get some as soon as I can. He has a bit of a 'thing' about his bowl stand - he is only eating and drinking if we hold his bowl for him! I think we'll tackle this issue when he's had chance to put a bit of weight on. Macca says: Oooh I do like a good book, there are so many pages to play with!! Mum left me for half an hour today - I wasn't too pleased and had a bit of a bark, but I eventually settled down.

Hi... have you got a stair gate? this helps cos they can still see you when you leave the room, the more you leave and come back the more secure she will become and will soon learn that you will come back. Charlie used to cry when i left the room, now he doesnt even lift his head off his bed unless im heading towards the kitchen!! xxx

With a lovely tasty treat in your hand and with Jack facing away from you, call him by his name. As soon as he turns his head to you, or comes to you, praise him loads and give him the treat. Do it a few times a day and within a few days he'll soon be responding to you as soon as you call his name. Mand x

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

So today is Blues 4th day home and he is settling really well...untill now he has been unable to settle much during the day when we are home, he has been busy watching the kids and just adjusting to the noise level and busyness etc but today he seems to have calmed alot and has spent a large part of this morning asleep in his bed despite the kids and noise :o) When we come down in the morning he goes absolutly loopy, he goes from the living room door to the back door in leaps and bounds and spinning round and round! haha! he is so funny to watch...he has been play bowing too and running like a complete loon around the garden...one big blur! our big silly, soft, cuddly blue...the hound sized hole in our house has been well and truly filled and we are loving it, our house hadnt been right since we lost our last girl to rainbow bridge and its lovely to have Blues waggy tail around and his needle nose getting into anything that looks edible!! xxx

Jack has had a couple of wee accidents. Daybreaks have some stain/odour remover which seems to work perfectly well. x

Hi macca, if your mum can make it to the kennels tell her to buy a fab product called simple solution, this will remove the stain and the odour which will help stop repeat offending in the same area. If you havbe a poorly tummy, stick to burns and add some white rice. This will help your tummy lad xxxxx

Thanks for that. Other than little accident, I hardly know he's here. He sleeps lots and likes to chill out. He isn't responding to his name and when I try to get him to play, he gets bored very quickly and goes back to his bed! x

Saw my first rabbit in the park this morning - didn't know what to make of it! I just stared. I had an accident in the lounge where I sleep last night. Mum says it looks like my tummy was a bit upset and that may have caused it. Is she right? Otherwise I've been a very good boy (apart from barking at the milkman at 6.15 this morning, but hey what can you expect). Mum asks whether you have any tips for removing the stain from the carpet?

Also my boys only had the kitchen when I was out. And it was a long time before they had run of the house.. Whilst you are out its fine to keep him the one room... When he has been with you longer you can give him more space xxxx

Hi Ruth, just to let you know Oscar (Dove) has settled really well. We took him for 2 long walks yesterday with no problems. Even when a neighbours 2 furry little dogs barked at him, he didnt even flinch! He ate all his dinner, had 2 poos and then went to sleep until 6.30 this morning!! He has been for a nice long walk this morning in his new coat 'cos I thought it was cold! He looked so smart. Will let you know how we get on - but so far so good! xxx
