I decided to call her Kat after Kat Von D (for those of you who have heard of her) but she definitely doesn't have attitude like her namesake! Decided we wouldn't call her something to do with her tattoos as one ear reads ET!!!! She is a gorgeous girl and her trainer tells us she is a really lovely nature.

We decided to call DJ this name as his tattoos in one ear read this! As his racing name is Sourhill Flash we felt we have had a few greys called Flash recently so decided on something different! We think he likes it as he has wagged his tail lots since he arrived!

Just told my family in no uncertain terms that i DO NOT need another walk today! I retreated to my duvet once my collar and lead were on and refused to move. I have been playing in the garden a lot today, and I had an extra short walk when I picked Sally up from the Blue Cross. I'm far too tired to go out again. I think they've got the message

Mum says: thanks to Ruth and Fiona for the advice, a lump of cheese waved under his nose and then placed in full view in the back of the car did the trick (twice at least!). Macca is having a lie down after playing fetch in the garden. He cheats! He brings the ball indoors and puts it on his bed.

Hi Darryl, you sound really in love with Jack, it's lovely, they really are a special breed! My 3 eat grass too, again, no sick, but (and sorry to bring the tone down!) but be aware that if they haven't chewed the grass into small pieces, it may, get, erm..."stuck" coming "out" at the tail end and you may need to grab the grass and help it out, eugh, sorry! I hope you and Jack have many happy years together, he sounds fab! x

Hi Mand. I feel a lot more relaxed about it now. I have a neighbour with a female lurcher puppy and she's kindly popped in a couple of times this morning and Jack has been fab. I think the amount of support from the kennels, owners and neighbours is really lovely and it does make what could otherwise be a very anxious time much easier to live with. Although I was aware of greyhounds tendancy for being 'relaxed', I'm amazed at just how much snoozing these beautiful dogs are capable of. I could learn a thing or two from these guys! x

Hi macca,.. This is something that takes time.. If he always associated getting in the car with going somewhere nice or for a nice long walk he will soon jump in, try putting just his front legs in and hell soon get the hang of it xxxx

Hi Darryl. Our two eat grass as well. They are never sick afterwards, but there does seem to be something about that lush green stuff that they enjoy! It can be a little daunting when you first bring them home can't it? I remember when we first brought our boy Gent home. I'd never owned a dog before, so relied heavily on the advice from the kennels. After doing the tour of the garden, big praise when he did a wee outside and introducing him on the rest of the house, I looked at him and thought "what do I do with him now?". In reality, he just wanted to climb on a nice comfy bed and do what Greys do best! You sound like you and Jack are doing just fine, but isn't it great to have the support of other grey owners and everyone at the kennels? I found the monthly walks useful too, it's so reassuring talking to other Grey owners and if there's one thing we all do well, it's talk about our Greys! Enjoy yourself. Mand x

I don't like getting in the back of the car (it's an estate) - Mum is having to lift me in; and I'm not a small lad! I'm fine once Im in, and I get out ok, any advice for Mum before she puts her back out?

What a shame ... boarding kennels are such scarey places, dogs are frightened, lots of strange dogs barking 🙁 no one they know is around 🙁 I can understand how they feel but what a shame 🙁 J x

That's a shame... She lived with a cat and was ok with it want she? It is probably due to being confined together. I think if my two were confined together the fur would fly! She is a dinky little poppet so I doubt it'll take long to get picked again. Hope the other dog is ok xxxx

Sadly Sally attacked one of the family's existing small pet dogs whilst she was in boarding kennels whilst the family were on holiday. We presume this is purely due to the distress of being in boarding as she has lived happily with all the other pets in the family without any problems until now. However we understand why the family feel she would be better rehomed. She is arriving back at Daybreaks today 🙁
