    I’m Homed

I just met the beautiful Topsy with my little Italian greyhound and her big brother Zeus. I must say Topsy was so well behaved and just wanted to play with our big dog but I think she was a little bit unsure of Purdy who was barking at her constantly. I think Purdy was jealous because Topsy is such a beautiful girl and her and Zeus were having fun together. I do hope Topsy finds her forever home soon because she really deserves one x

Oh Mr Phoenix you are definitely my favourite boy at the moment (I know I shouldn't have a favourite, but there is just that certain something about this boy). Really hoping he gets his chance very soon - big cuddles today my lovely. xx

Mr Joe is such a sweetheart, so calm and affectionate. He does seem to prefer to lie on the floor rather than his lovely comfy bed though! xx

The lovely Topsy has a dangerous tail - it goes round like mad and delivers whiplash!!! This lovely lady is so sweet and would love to be out in a home as she is not terribly keen on kennel life. Big cuddles today poppet. xx

Well, when we opened up this morning there had been an explosion in Flowers kennel - white duvet stuffing everywhere!!! This young lady is a delight - a bundle of energy who just needs to be out of a kennel and in an active home where she can have fun and play, until it's time to snooze!! She responds well and is desperate to please, I really think she would enjoy training - let's hope she is next to find her forever home. Cuddles for you Miss Livewire! xx

So today we made the trip to officially adopt Minnie the Minx, wasn’t not really going to happen! She’s an absolute loon who we all love well Good old Gold shouts at her every so often but the W we knew that would happen. Molly Moo thinks she’s ok, we re hoping that some of the extrovert will pass onto our little introvert. A huge thank you to all at daybreaks for trusting us with another gorgeous hound. Ruby Roo will be looking down rolling her eyeballs at the carnage!

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Max (Ooaar Les Says) 1st May 2009 - 21st May 2021 My Sister Pam had to say Goodbye to her beloved Max today. We are very grateful to the vet for arranging it so we could both be with him when he slipped peacefully away in my car. Xxx Very sadly old age caught up with him and he is now at Rainbow Bridge playing in the sun with members of our Greyhound family who have gone before, Stan, Twiggy, Mannie and Bobby. Xxx Max was a super lad who was very much loved and adored. He loved his walks, his holidays to Woolacombe with his Greyhound mates. He made us laugh when he used to tell my Fletch and Lyra off when their playing annoyed him! :)) Max had his bed positioned right next to the sofa so he could receive fuss on demand. :)) I know Pam, Terry and the whole of our family will miss him terribly. I hope all the happy memories they have of his life with them will be a comfort at this sad time. God Bless you handsome Max. Always in our hearts. Xxx

  • Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

One word describes today - ABSOLUTELYCRAZY!!! It started quietly, and the residents had a nice morning walk in some light drizzle. I walked new boy Joe, what a lovely boy he is. He stood so calmly waiting to be leaded up and walked nicely by my side, and only just raised his head at the squiggle that dared show itself down the lane!! Alley couldn't join us following his neutering op yesterday, but I don't think he was too sad about not getting wet! He was bright & happy this morning when I opened up - sadly poor Bruiser was not a happy boy and was very stressed. Once out of the kennel and in company though he was like a different dog. This morning also saw the arrival of another new handsome black boy Chase, and the sad return of Leo from his trial. The kennels were full to bursting - especially as we have a kennel out of action due to a leaking roof - so Ruth put out an appeal for emergency foster homes. This was when things went up 2 or 3 gears and a whirlwind ensued!!! The stunning Vulcan found himself his forever home, Leo went straight back out to a new foster home, Chase (who fortunately hadn't unpacked his case) also went out on foster. Then it was Bruiser's turn to go out on foster, so happy that he wont have to spend another night in a kennel bless him. Massive thanks to everyone who responded - we are so grateful, as are the doggies who are now in a home environment for a while. I did a health check for my boy Phoenix, he is a model subject and just stands so patiently whilst being checked over and groomed. He does love a snuggle too, and looks right into your eyes - a stunner. x Amid all the activity and the torrential rain that had set in by lunchtime, there were no afternoon walks for the residents - just cuddles and a wee break! It was a busy, busy day and it is definitely almost time for wine!! The weekend is here again, and let's hope that some more of our residents find themselves their forever homes. My glass is raised to everyone who worked so hard today - a great team. x Stay safe & well all, and try to stay dry!! Cheers! Angie xx

Vulcan didn’t react to our cats or the small dogs visiting Daybreaks. He is so big at 41kg but a total gentle giant.
