He is such a gentle giant. Please do not be put off by his size, more greyhound to cuddle and love.He has such a lovely face and is so friendly and really needs a home of his own. He has so much potential and really likes human company on our walk he enjoyed walking against you and when we stopped he liked to snuggle up to people especially Willow's gran. I know Willow's auntie was trying to persuade the rest of the family to consider having Sunny as a boyfriend for her so if she is reading this I wonder how she got on?

Blue has been golden for another night, although prefers to lie in the garden than in the house, who can blame him when the sun shines!

I took Mary to visit Kerry's cats this morning and after initial interest, she was walking past them calmly. With some initial training I think she could live with cats.

    I’m Homed

Just a quick update on last night - Fizz didn't settle straight away last night, even though she was really tired after a long walk & had had a good squib of rescue remedy, but it was only a few minutes before she stopped her protest & settles down in the crate. Like clockwork she was awake and yapping (not so much barking if that doesn't sound crazy!). I went down to her & followed the technique - she had a wee & went back to bed no problems. She barked again almost straight away, so we went outside again - she just seems happier to be outside to be honest & I had to go & fetch her in to go back to bed. Wondering if she might not like the confines of the closed crate I decided to leave it in the room, but not secure the door, to see if it made a difference to her. She had another squib of RR & went back to bed. Straight away, Kiera nipped into the crate and curled up cozy - Fizz stood & whined a little & then lay down on Kiera bed. I went back to bed at 4am & she was fine until 6.30am when Darren got up for work. I have removed the crate & i am going to try her again tonight, continuing the techniques . . . we WILL get there, I am determined! XX

Hi guys - thanks for your support. Yes, I am using the rescue remedy - it's not that she doesn't seem calm when she goes to bed, she is really chilled. Calming tabs might be worth a shot tho - get some tomorrow. I am using the crate in the room with the others & she is happy to go in there really nicely. She seems to settle okay at first - so far the barking hasn't started until about 3am, but then she can't seem to settle again after that - i do give her more rescue remedy then, she toilets on her first trip to the back door & last night eventually settled outside on the patio! I did have to laugh really! The room is closed by two half glass doors - one into the kitchen & one int the hall. The hall is a no no as it is direct access upstairs, but i have tried leaving the door to the kitchen open, but she still doesn't settle. The door from the kitchen then leads to the lounge, dining room & conservatory which is all open plan. It's not even that she wants to be on the sofa, because as yet she hasn't ventured up like the others do (although i'm certain she will). Anyway, try again tonight - no work tomorrow so it doen't matter if i look like a zombie!!! :-))

hi Deb, just wondering but has that room got a door that you close at night? all of my boys hate being behind closed doors and will whine, i put a dog gate up instead so that they can actually look out of the room and they are all good as gold...just a thought and if it has a door it may be worth a try with a dog gate?! good luck and thanks for giving it all you've got, she is so very lovely. 🙂 xxxx

Jayne brought Tara back to the kennels this morning so I can look after her prior to her dental on Friday. We have had an offer of a wonderful home and once she has recovered from her dental she will be off to Yorkshire! She is a poppet and has chilled out with ours nicely x bless x

Hi Deb, have you tried the crate yet and have you been giving her the rescue remedy? It is still early days, and I know how frustrating it is when you need sleep (been there many times) but she WILL get there........ It might be worth trying some herbal calming tablets which should make her feel very relaxed and hopefully want to sleep the night thro! x

    I’m Homed

Have been repeatedly using Ruth's technique of gently taking Fizz by collar & out side the back door for 5 mins each time she barks during the night. It is tiring when I just want to go back to bed, (I don't even make it back to bed & she is barking again!), but I hope it will work if i persevere. Fizz isn't making a fuss about going out & seems to just accept that is where she is going & then back to bed - but then she barks again! Last night I kept at it from 4am (in the dark) until 5-30am (the birds were singing & the sun was up!) but I had to laugh because in the end Fizz just lay down on the patio & closed her eyes!!!! I had to bring her in as it was trying to rain & as it was almost time to get up anyway I left all the girlies out of bed & went for my shower - it's amazing that she didn't make a sound when left out of the sleep room, just went to sleep in the lounge! I really would prefer to confine the girls to the sleep room at night as I always have done previously with no problems at all (it's a large utility off the kitchen with room easily for four large beds). If anyone has any other ideas that have worked for night time barking & scratching - or if you have anymore ideas Ruth in addition to what I am doing - I would be eternally grateful. I'm nowhere near ready to throw in the towel on this little girl, she is far too lovely, I just need more suggestions!! XXXXXX
