Happy Gotcha Day Sadie! 2 years ago today I was knocking down the door of Daybreaks at dead on 10am to come and collect her - we'd not even unpacked from our holidays! Such a special sweet-natured little grey, and although my mop, bucket and washing machine didn't know what had hit them, I wouldn't change her for the world! xxx

A hole has appeared in the garden...I fill it in...someone empties it out...I fill it in...someone empties it out...you get the picture! We'd narrowed the ninja digger down to 3 suspects, but with obvious speed and stealth on their side I'd resigned myself to never finding out and having to put up with a tutting husband...until yesterday when I was called to the back door by said tutting husband to see soil flying around and Penny up to her shoulders in hole! She was so intent on the job in hand that she'd forgotten about being caught, when she saw us she ran to the other side of the garden and I swear she was gesturing at Buddy to blame him! Too late Penny, too late, your hole digging days are numbered!

Quick update after three days - all going really well. He's eating like a champ, starting to play with his cuddly hedgehog. Loves having a sleep in the garden. We had some manic antics in the garden last evening, which was lovely to see. Thanks to everyone, I'll update more in the future.

Fay is one for finding food while we are out. One time she walked all the way home carrying a Lamb bone. Another time she picked up a quarter of a orange. I am becoming an expert at getting tasty scraps from Fays mouth before she has a chance to enjoy them.

Ha, ha Julie, yes, why is it that Grey owners examine their dogs' poo so much. I remember the first time I walked Gent, I had to extend my arm to the fullest length to pick it up and boy did I wrinkle my nose. These days, I'm like Gillian McKeith I study it so much!! Hope Charlie is okay Fi. Gent ate a whole squirrel once and we couldn't catch him to get it off him. I tried to reassure myself by thinking that in the wild, dogs would eat what they caught (small bones included), but I did keep a close eye on him for any small signs that something might be wrong. He was absolutely fine thoughand wondered what all the fuss was about! Mand x

Hi Fi The problem with any cooked bones is that they splinter where raw bones usually don't, just keep an eye on him and his poos (favourite topic for grey owners anyway 🙂 ) and if he seems uncomfortable or strains but nothing appears or there's blood etc etc I'd get him to a vet asap. Having said that my Tig once passed a piece of wire with no ill effects so I'm sure he'll be fine 🙂 If he does it again I'd been told feeding as much bread as they'll eat can help cushion the bones sharp edges as it goes through them but check with your vet 🙂 Best wishes Julie

Thanks sara, he was very pleased with himself!! Fly then dragged me across the grass so he could hunt himself some scraps...but I was wise to it by then. It does annoy me people littering full stop, and glass everywhere, I never noticed how much glass is everywhere until I had the boys! I hope he is ok, seems fine so I'll stop worrying. Hope you are ok lovely xxx

Hi Fi. Cracker n now Charlie hav been hunting kfc for years now. They kno where the local one is n pass it daily usually picking up scraps as they go. I try t look out 4 bones b4 they c them but most times they've eaten them b4 I realise. Up til now they've never had any bad effects in fact they very much enjoy the fact they've found there own food n seem very chuffed with themselves. I'm sure Charlie is just as pleased with himself n will do it nxt time he gets chance. I do wish people wud put the bones in the bin tho, it'll save havin t worry. X
