Mine don't like being locked away either - they stay in the kitchen (behind a dog gate) overnight or when I'm out. If I'm out for any length of time I leave the radio on, as Jill suggested. Can Fudge see the garden from your lounge? Maybe the squirrels are teasing him? Is he barking/whining when he first goes into the lounge or is he waking you in the night? Try and grab a copy of Jan Fennel's book which the kennels have copies of for sale. Given his history, I expect Fudge will need a little extra reassurance. Big hugs to the gorgeous boy xxx

when you say shut them into the lounge do you mean shut the door or do you have a dog gate? mine do not like to be behind closed doors but seem to be happy behind a dog gate so they can still look out. hope you can work something out...love Ina

Help please!! Due 2 us having the cats we shut the dogs in the lounge overnight or when we're not at home, but over the last couple of days Fudge has started whining quite a bit n has now also started barking, he seems 2 be showing some signs of seperation anxiety, he was fine n didn't do this 4 the 1st few days he was here. We haven't had this problem at all with Cally & Mystic n would be very grateful 4 any advice that any1 could give us on how 2 deal with it n hopefully stop it. Thanx Jen & the gang xxx

A quick update on Penny, or Nora, as in Batty as I sometimes call her...all she needs is wrinkled stockings! The move went well, she enjoyed being spoilt at Bark Inn kennels and settled down into the new house as if she'd always been here. Her and Buddy have formed a "food stealing" gang, so far a box of biscuits and noodles have been swiped...Artful Dodger and Fagin...! She also decided that she'd investigate her new area when I left the gate open (I know, I know...!) to collect the wheely bin, she apeared to go suddenly deaf to my calling her and needed to be chased and hearded into a garden round the corner by me, Buddy, Jack and an old guy on his mobility scooter before I could grab her! All good fun! Good job I've got a sense of humour and a supply of emergency chocolate under the mattress! Penny sends licks xxxx

Its nearly 12 months ago that we took Hope (now Daisy) on trial and what a interesting year! Touch wood she is settling down nicely she has taken some time to get into our routines and realise that this is her forever home. She loves her brother Preston and is definately our little Princess. Thank you so much to Ruth and Daybreaks for all of your support and all the good work you do. xxx

Colin, how lucky are you a new pretty girlfriend and you get to hang out in the woods with a gang of greyhounds! You really are onto a winner this time and it looks like you are going to have a well deserved new life. Well done to Ellie and her mum and those greyhounds in the village who might have a part to play in convincing your new family to take you on.

We met Monty on Saturday he is so handsome.He did really well at training on Saturday especialy as he has only been out of Kennels for a week.

Captain (Monty)

Hi Kate Captain, now renamed Monty, has settled in really well. He's not messed in the house at all, the only thing he's chewed is a calculator when we left him for a while - other than ripping bin bags apart looking for whatever he can find to eat. He keeps sneaking on the sofa when we go out but never tries it when we are in. He's loved just snoozing in the garden in the sun this week and is now really relaxed at home. Going for walks is different. He get's really stressed about other dogs and goes mad when he sees bikes, cats, rabbits and squirrels - but that's ok, we're also going along to the training class on saturday mornings with Julie which are great. He's coming on really well and his behaviour when out is already massively improved since day one. I think it will be a long time until he might come off the lead or out of his muzzle in public but I'm sure we will eventually get there. Thanks for asking. I long on when I have time just to see who else is getting rehomed 🙂
