Ha ha i laughed so much when i read your comment - our two girls Baby and Saffy run like mad when they are let off the lead but we too have a 'big black lump' - our Jake prefers to watch the proceedings, staying by our sides. Its the black boys - so laid back!! Merry, chilled Christmas Paddy and Perdi - and the same to you Becky and Stefan xxx

jack is no longer Jack. Jack is now Fudge!! Fudge allowed us some sleep. Tried to bark but after 10 minutes of the door banging at him when he did he shut up and went to sleep next to Tilly. Currently walking around with a make shift nappy (tah Ruth for the tip) to stop him spraying the house. Only got the bed and settee so far!!! Oh yes like helping cook Stick Toffee puddings too x x x x

We have a similar problem with a lurcher and a trip to the vets confirmed a blocked anal gland and the baldness was due to over grooming in that area. She is fed on james Well Beloved and the vet suggested weetabix for breakfast (much to the delight of Millie )to increase the roughage in her diet.Although a lurcher Millie looks like she could be Emily's sister they are so alike! Millies mum.

Hi Mand, I used to work for a Plastic Surgeon and his wise words of advice to promote hair growth was always to massage the area lightly for several minutes daily with a light oil such as baby oil or aloe vera. We have worked on the real baldies and this seems to help....... Also ensure her water intake is good as sometimes it can be due to dehydration - especially this time of year with the heating on she will need more.

Can anyone give me some advice on Bald Thigh Syndrome. Emily has always had a threadbare bum, which did seem to get a bit better a few weeks after we got her home, but in the last month, this has got worse and has now spread around to the sides of her thighs. She's always had a bald tummy too. She's being fed on John Burns complete food, the same as Gent, who I'm pleased to say has a lovely full backside, so I don't think it's anything food related. I have read up on BTS and it really wouldn't worry me, except that she seems to be losing more just recently. Don't think it's thyroid related, lethargy is one thing we could never accuse our little girl of and she's as much fun now as the day she came home! Just wondered if anyone could offer any advice? Mand x

Ruth and Rob, I think it will be a good job you have Shrew, Basil, Foxy, Wispa, Maggie and Joe with you; who needs a hot water bottle when you can cuddle a greyhound! Hope all goes well and Santa visits you! Love Kate and Twiggy xx
