Hi Littledwee - She is a shy, quiet, reserved little girl so will not stand up for herself and the 2 other dogs in the family are not making her feel welcome to share their established pack 🙁

Hi Ruth Glad to hear that Max is till doing well evn if he is is mre wobbley bless him. We have just been on the greyhound site and discovered that Billy is Nellies half uncle (uncle Bill!!). It's great that you can trace them on the site. I forgot to tell you that i donated £10 to Max's appeal. i wish it could be more. Billy seems a loy brighter today. He managed to get off to sofa twice today and has not lost his appetite so thst must be a good sign. Big hug for Max. Keep up the good work Ruth. you do a fantastic job. see you soon Vanessa

Poor girl, she's such a beautiful thing I'm sure her feet wont touch the ground before she's whisked off to a new home. Good luck angel, see you on Sunday for a cuddle and maybe for walkies with your bigger doppeldanger Harrison. x

what a shame to read that yet another one of our gorgeous hounds is being returned after a short time, they do deserve better than this and hopefully it will not be too long before we can find her a permanent home. big hug to a lovely little girl. xxxx

I really cant understand why this beautiful girl is being returned, dont these people think it through. It is a privilege to own a dog not a right. However it is better for her to have a new home with committed owners.

Hi Vanessa, great to hear from you and sorry to hear about Billy's poorly paw! Sending lots of love...... It is so great to hear he is so loved and has settled so well. Hope to see you soon xxxx ps Max (my big softy) is getting so very wobbly now so doesn't venture out much these days - I can remember when he was a bouncy monkey and was difficult to control in and out of the house! Long gone are those days 🙁

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hi Ruth Sorry we had to miss the last walk in the park. we could not make this one as Billy has a poorly paw. We noticed that he occasionally limps but quickly recovers without much fuss. We took him to the vet's on saturday and were told that he had badly bruised the bone with soft tissue damage and was prescribed NSAID's. I bandaged his paw with a support bandage and he hopped along and seemed fine in himself. i took the bandage off on monday night just to check all was well and noticed the swelling had moved higher to his elbow joint so we decided to keep the bandage off. Big mistake as by the next morning his lovely paw looked more like a pigs' trotter. it was huge!!! i phoned the vets who reassured me and told me to re-apply the compression bandage. As you can imagine it was hard for him to cock his leg and balance on two legs when going to the toilet so consequently he ended up with a wet bandage. this time we noticed some blood so was straight on the prone to the vet again. As we suspected his paw was infected and antibiotics prescribed. iv'e been bathing it in hibiscrub and paracetamol as he had a high temperature. he is looking really sorry for himself but is milking it as he has taken over the sofa and enjoying even more fuss than normal. Generally he is such a happy chappy at home still. there was a time when we thought he may take over as top dog but Nellie has soon put a stop to that and every now and again puts him staright back in line. he knows his place with such a dominant female. he still gets lots a of admirers but only from humans, dogs are usually scared of him as he dislikes other breeds other than his mates the greyhounds. he loves his food and walks. he walks round the village like a gangster! his coat looks like like leather at night and he walks so proud you would not mess with him. BUT we know the real billy and he is the most loving big softie that we all love so much. we have almost solved the problem with him slippng on the laminate flooring. we have had Karndean flooring installed (posh lino which is put down in strips to replicate wooden flooring). It's ant-slip just for Billy Boy. he is much better but occasionally slips when he goes too fast. We hope all is well with you Ruth and Max is still doing well. We hope to catch up with you soon. Lots of love Vanessa, Dave Jake Billy and Nellie We would like to thank the previous owners for thier comments. it was lovely to get some back ground information on him. He is usually really happy and has made us really happy too! He is very funny and makes us laugh. he is such a big character and i think he will be an eternal puppy even though he is 5 now.

So many black beauties at the moment, but don't overlook this sweet lady, she's still young enough to give you many years of joy and companionship. From the comment before mine it seems she has come on leaps and bounds with the right people giving her the love and care she needed and sounds as though she is ready for her forever home now. Great job done again at Daybreaks. Good luck girl x

Well, the vet thinks he has bicipital tendinitis, nothing obvious from the x-ray. Not heard of this before, hope it's something that can be "mended", just nice to have him back home again. Was lovely that when the nurse brought him out he looked so pleased to see me, reassuring to see he's bonding with us even after a short ammount of time. Still keeping my fingers crossed...thankyou for the kind messages x

I realised too, to reassure everyone I don't think that everything will be perfect in 2 weeks just because I happen to be off school! I know things might take longer to settle in than that but I thought having that time available might be a good start. 🙂 xx
