Poor poor Lucy. She was quite distressed when I collected her from the vets at 5pm yesterday. The side of her head seemed to be swelling and by 7.30pm I called the emergency vet. They advised me to remove the head bandage and when we did we were covered in blood!!! Using a volume of towels, the blood poured out of the drain and her face started to go down. Phew! She spent the night in a cage by the side of our bed and wimpered most of the night but she has had egg on toast this morning and seems brighter. The photos taken this morning (for those of you with a strong stomach) shows her looking loads better!

Hi Suejo, Joe has fitted into home life perfectly! He comes up the kennels with me quite often and everyone is used to his lumpy neck, quirky head movements and twitches and they don't seem to cause him any distress. All in all he seems a happy boy at the moment which is fantastic. I've added a new photo of him in his posh new red collar! Unfortunately his lumpy throat gets in the way sometimes!!!!

to pinkunicorn if you might read this. i too lost my two collies within a year and was heartbroken. i got Rossi after i lost Lenny to keep Monty dog company and it was the beginning of my love affair with greyhounds. during Monty's last months he had the company of three greyhound brothers and he was happy to have them in his life before cancer took him away. my heart goes out to you and i am sending you love and strength for the time ahead and love to your gorgeous little Molly. i wish i would not have to work full time and that i would be in a position to have another grey because she is so lovely, she really would be a jewel to have in one's life and she so deserves a bit of happiness in her retirement days. Ina xxx

is it out of sight out of mind for Maxie? just because he is not at the kennels at the mo does not mean that he does not deserve a consideration, he is now a fully fledged pet grey and will be a wonderful boy to have in one's life. someone please have a look at him and you will see what i mean. xxx
