Mindy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
She was sent to Ireland after her racing career for breeding and had 10 pups in one litter and 7 in another. They all raced. She also had 100 races. She deserves a good home and to be loved to bits.

Poppy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hi all, Poppy (or Pops as our little boys calls her) has been here for a month now and her personality is slowly coming through, she is a very sweet, loving and cheeky girl she loves to play football with Sonny and the boys, she likes throwing her teddys/toys up in the air (im sure she aims them at us) she has been spotless in the house apart from some fireworks which made her pee on the rug twice, but she was so frightened she couldnt help it poor thing, she now takes treats gently out of your hand and is less possesive over her food and water bowl now as she understands there is plently more availabe and no one is going to pinch it ! We are still makeing slow progress with Jasmine the cat but she is getting better, not sure they will ever be 'best friends' but a mutual agreement between them both to be nice to each other is a hopefull outcome! (fingers crossed) We absolutley love her to bits and wouldnt be without them both, our little boy was poorly and asleep on the settee and both Poppy and Sonny wouldnt leave him, they both kept licking his cheek trying to wake him up,... they didnt understand why it was so peacefull ......! LOL XX

Apparently although Danny will make an adorable pet he has suddenly found skinnyme's cats very interesting so is not considered to be cat friendly. He will be returning to the kennels tomorrow. Pam

Oh dear, I know how you feel. We've been having a few problems lately with my girl Sadie. She won't 'go' when let outside at night, even though we will go outside with her. What has made it worse is the fireworks - even though she's not bothered by them in the slightest, our other grey Kevin won't go out AT ALL when it is dark and consequently the evening walk is now an afternoon walk. This is ok for Kevin - he can cork it for ages, but Sadie-piddle-pants can't! So, what we've found works is taking her out on her own for a last minute 'wee-walk' at about 10pm. I can't see what the difference is between going out in the back garden and going out the front, but for some reason, she associates the lead with doing her business?! Sometimes this walk is only 5 mins long as she does her business then cries to go back home to bed! She has occasionally blatantly piddled infront of us (a bit like how you described) but that was when she needed the loo but thought she was going to miss out on something (i.e food) if she went out! I hope everything settles back down for you - I'm sure it will soon. Em x

Danny is staying with us until a new owner comes along. He is fabulous to walk, he is improving daily with his house training and is now getting on with our cats, he was fine in the park today with other dogs and ducks!! He is an absolute sweetheart and will make a lovely pet, he loves company and lots of fuss.

I took the decision to leave Mindy at the kennels last night with Babe before she got too used to us..... it broke my heart to leave her - she watched me through the window...... I am sure someone will fall in love with this little old greyhound lady very soon.

There are many greys having problems this time of year - this is because of the fireworks. If a bang has gone off whilst he was outside, he will associate going outside with something scary (even in the daylight). You might wish to try some calming tablets or go outside with him to reassure him.

Maybe its because he has his house coat on. Mine always go down the garden late at night to do their last 'jobs' without a coat on. They are back within minutes. If he isn't 'going' before you go to bed then he probably wont go through the night at this early stage in his retirement. Good luck Pam
