Matt has really taken my heart and is such a beautiful boy. He's such a character and he make me smile when he was prancing around in the run. He is gorgeous and such a looker. I have my eye on him to be honest, but we're back to persuading Dad again! (; xx

I don't know why Katie is still at the kennels, she's a darling!!! She is so lovely and so dinky, but her personality makes up for it. She was trying to give my mum and kiss and she just loved all the attention. xx

Thank you, again, to both of you. It eases my guilt when I read things like that (: My mum and I popped down for an hour at the end of the day and It was so good to be back again. We just wandered around fussing them all and all of them took our hearts. Kiki was a darling, but I do believe she may have a home, which is great! They're all so tiny!!! My mum loves Katie, and I do agree she has bags of personality. I love Robbie too, he's gorgeous. Then we met Matt, and oh boy I couldn't leave him alone. He is amazing and he just made me feel so happy. My mum and I also fell in love with Micky, we felt so sorry for him and he just loved having some fuss. I think it's going to be between Matt and Micky, if we were to have any of them! I honestly can't wait for another greyhound, though Alfie will always be my baby boy. I felt so bad when I accidently called one of them Alfie 🙁 We should be back up again this weekend I hope! xxx

Dearest Amy please don't feel guilty about getting another grey, Alfie will always be with you in your memories of him but you have a lot of love to give and there are hounds out there who deserve to be loved and cared for by someone like you. i knew that i was going to have to say good bye to my beloved Monty before too long and i actually got Kenzie before i lost Monty to help me fill the terrible hole i knew he would leave behind...we all have been in your shoes and know how much it hurts so anything that stops the pain is a good thing. much love Ina xxxx

Hi Amy Please dont think bad about looking for another grey. Duncan (my husband) always says, "get another one as soon as possible, there are plenty looking for homes. It will soften the blow a little". Your new grey will not replace Alfie, he will always be in your heart, It will be a new beginning and the start of a new chapter for you all and your new grey. love Pam xxxxx

    I’m Homed

Sorry, not been on here for a while. Have had a couple of interesting times with our Terry lately. Everything was going very well and then, he started messing at night. This was understandable to an extent (he's still new) but yesterday and today he just stood in the kitchen, back door wide open, and urinated on the floor. We're thinking of changing his evening walk to make it later (that might help with the night time issues - although he does go out at 10 each night with one of us into the garden - he doesn't always "go" and we have been out there for 30-40 minutes at a time.) But this new activity??? I am at a loss. He's got his house coat on - so he's not cold - not shivering or anything... any ideas?

Hi Amy I'm sure it helps to know that so many people are thinking about you at this time - it's true what they say about joining a family when you adopt a greyhound from Daybreaks. Don't feel guilty about thinking about a new greyhound. No-one can ever take away the 2 months that you gave to Alfie and there's always another greyhound who needs a loving family. Mand x

Thanks again to everyone, your comments really touched me and my Mum. I feel bad that I'm already a little excited about looking for another grey, it's not even been a week and I feel like I'm trying to find another to replace Alfie :'[ We're collecting his things tomorrow from the vets, I'm keeping his ashes and scattering them once it's been a year in the spot where we used to run together. It's hard, but we're getting there. Thank you again so much for all your support, I honestly don't know what I would've done without all your kind words. Much love, Amy xxx

don't be put off just because Jack is a little shy at first, the hesitant ones make the most rewarding pets, my Toby is the perfect example of that, please give this handsome boy a chance as he will reward you with all his love and total loyalty. x

Oh Amy, I'm so sorry, I was only thinking about you last night and wondering how you were getting on. Don't know what to say, you must be devastated but be comforted by the fact that Alfie had a very happy time with you and your family and enjoyed his time as a much loved family pet. I just can't believe this news, take care of yourselves. Love Ann
