Dear Florence, wishing you a very happy 4th Gotcha Day! Can't believe how quickly the time has gone. I remember the telephone call from your Mom; she told me she was sure your were the girl for her! 🙂 Enjoy being the owner of the sofa!! Lots of love Kate Xxx

It’s my 4th Gotcha Day, mom and TC say they love me very much and I love them. I got a new cushion that lets everyone know the sofa belongs to ME! and a new fluffy bunny. Mom says thank you to Daybreaks for making us a family! Xxx

DONATION OF ITEMS FOR DAYBREAKS “HONESTY BOX” CHARITY SHOP I am so incredibly grateful to everybody that has kindly donated general items for us to sell in the onsite shop at the kennels. However, space is at an absolute premium now, as we have had to accommodate the contents of our Swan offices since having to move out from them in July. With the continuing Covid-19 restrictions meaning we cannot have regular fundraising events, and the footfall through the kennels being greatly reduced, we find ourselves completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of general items and I have made the hard decision to suspend donations for a short while to enable us to sort through what we already have and make sure the Honesty Box and its annexe are well stocked with good saleable items. It will also give us the opportunity to research and source alternative outlets to help us raise the vital funds we need. During this difficult time for us all, I would like to thank everyone for their understanding and continuing support – we are looking forward to a time when things have eased and have returned to “normal” and we will then be grateful for all donations as we kickstart our face to face fundraising again and are in a position to invite you all back to Daybreaks. Thankyou once again, and please keep an eye on the website for updates and an announcement of when we will be in a position to start accepting items again. I am truly grateful - Ruth xx

Skip had the holiday blues today. He came to the kennels with me but was very unsettled and out of sorts. Think he would rather have been back at the beach! Lyra didnt want to come at all!! They love going away and doing something different just the same as we do. 🙂 Xx It was great to see Ruth this morning looking much better 🙂 She has bought a lovely wooden cart for all the natural treats we stock at the kennels. It is outside of the office which makes it much easier for visitors to make purchases and abide by the social distancing rules that are required at present. 🙂 Brilliant to hear the on-line auction has gone so well. I spoke to a lovely lady this afternoon who had spent more than she intended to but enjoyed herself! :)) x Xxx

Another change of plan! Molly stayed at Daybreaks as she was settled in her kennel this afternoon. Denise took Raven home instead as she was quite stressed and in need of some extra tlc. Xxx

Oh my goodness - my heart broke for this little girl this morning. On opening up she looked so sad and nervous.... so I took her into the sand run with Tiggy and Momma. She was a bit overwhelmed to start with but gradually the tail touching her tum came down slightly. She had some treats in the office and then Sue and Yvonne tempted her to eat her breakfast. Suffice to say the little lass is going to come home with me tonight for a bit of extra TLC. We will get rid of those nervous bones and find the happy tail in her x

Hi all, just a very polite reminder, we are operating an appointment only system at the kennels due to the current covid restrictions. Please if you need to visit, collect food or pop in for advice, please call first. We are not being awkward, we are following government guidelines to protect staff, volunteers and you lovely visitors. We need to protect everyone so we can continue to run the kennels. Thanks so much for your cooperation. X

Pati came out with me for a few hours today. As Jo said, he was a very good boy and he had a lot thrown at him today! We went over Sheldon Country Park, where he met some horses and donkeys. He was a little alarmed by the noises they made, but was happy to trot past them. We continued our walk and he maintained a good pace. We had a few bikes get quite close to us and some children, but he wasn't bothered by them. On the park he came nose to nose with a spaniel and walked past quite a few small dogs with no reaction. He was interested in dogs running in the distance, but didn't lunge. On the way back to my house we met a chihuahua, who had made a break for it. Pati stood patiently whilst the Chihuahua and the owner ran around us in circles until the owner had caught him. I was really amazed that Pati didn't even flinch. Once back at my house, he had a good nose round and settled in the hallway where he could keep an eye on both the living room and the kitchen. He did later jump up at the sink but a clear 'no' meant all four paws were immediately put back on the floor. He was clean in the house ( there for about 1.5 hours) and did go for a wee in the garden when I took him out. He is a lovely boy and seems really quite relaxed. He travelled well and even jumped into the car on the way to the park. Here's hoping he doesn't have to wait too long for his sofa xx
