Dad has builders in, Oh they are so lovely, I love them, I love everyone they are my friends and they love it when I jump up at them, paws on the chest and give my loving eyes, Celia is a bit scared actually which is funny because when they go she thinks she rules the world, but I think she might be in trouble becuase she stole thier pencil and Dad had to take it from her but she had broken it anyway , Im fine thanks for asking and I'm quiet happy now Dad is finally managing to sort out our home... again , I'll never forget all that water.

It all too exciting here, Dad is finally getting people in after the flood to fix the house and they are leaving overnight some amazing toys for me to play with, Paintbrushes, Pencils, drill bits their toy box is much better than mine but Dad says its thiers and not mine and I shouldn't touch it, they do scare me a bit and I am a bit nervous when they are here but when they have finished for the night they leave me all this stuff to play with so they must be nice humans.Carrie and JessJess said they are also writing comments

Jack it certainly sounds like you are experiencing all life has to offer and are doing vey well. It must be very daunting to venture out into the big wide world, but it sound like you are a quick learner and with time and guidance will get there. I love the photos of you in your foster home, your foster sisfur Charlotte is very pretty and I expect is keeping you in line!! Enjoy the rest of your stay sweetheart. xx

Jack
I’m Homed
Jack had an eventful day today with lots of traveling. We had a good start to the day, Jack is starting to understand that he needs to do his wee and poo in the garden. So during the night no accidents and first thing in the morning to the garden for some much needed relief. We had a great walk in the morning and his stool is very good. I have now noticed on two separate occasions that he does not react to cats, not even lifting his head. He may be cats friendly but that can be confirmed at the kennel. As mentioned, Jack did a lot of traveling today. My wife needed to go into the office in Birmingham today so in the morning Jack come along to Birmingham. Next stop was Pets at home in Tamworth. We had a walk through the shop no bad behaviour at all. He enjoyed the shopping and then of home again. The rest of the afternoon he was relaxing on his bed only to raise his head when I was cooking in the kitchen. In the afternoon, Jack come along to pick my wife up. That was quite an experience for him. He had to go on the a footbridge to cross a very busy road. He needed a little bit of reassurance, but he did great. In the city he also coped well with the busses, trams, cars, the beeping, sirens and not to forget those two-legged creatures called humans. He found it all very fascinating. During the early evening he has been relaxing, we did find a poo in the house we are not sure when that happened, but as with any dog we also need to learn when they indicate they want to relief themselves. It is so easy to forget how used we are to our own dog(s) and how WE learned their signals and non-verbal communication. We wanted to give him a bath but maybe we do that tomorrow as it already has been a very busy day with lots of new experiences. I am incredibly pleased how quickly he has settled. Jack really is a truly kind soul.

A cuddle for Yardy tonight. I can't believe he is still waiting for his forever home. He is a very happy, friendly lad. He is exuberant when he is out and about but is a very quiet boy in his kennel and very clean! You can't help but smile when you meet him. :)) Xxx

Jack’s first night was good, he wanted to be near Charlotte or maybe all of us so as Charlotte sleeps upstairs in our room, so did Jack. Jack was helped downstairs during the night, but did not come up straight away, we got treated to a little song from him. He had two accidents during the night one wee and during the morning one poo neither we saw happen so could not correct him. Jack is a quick learner; he has discovered the purpose of the kitchen now and wonders into the kitchen which we need to correct. As mentioned, before he is a quick learner and understands that “NO” means he should not do that or go there. Our daughter has declared that she really likes Jack, so I will need to explain again that he is only staying for a couple of days but a great indorsement for Jack. When we took our daughter to nursery, it was an opportunity to assess separation. We recorded what happened when we were gone for about 10-15 minutes. When I listened back it was clear that step by step training will be required, very slowly increasing the time gap between leaving and returning. We had a very wet morning walk but no issues whatsoever. He dealt well with the traffic noise, people on the street. It was a really easy walk with Jack as it always is. Charlotte and Jack been sleeping most of the day. We also did a pampering session with Jack he let me handle his paws, let me inspect his teeth and had a combing session, all with no problems at all. The evening walk with Charlotte and Jack was fine again. There was a tender moment when we getting ready to go for our walk. Jack rested his muzzle on Charlottes back and were standing like that for 20 seconds. Still not enough time to get my mobile and take a photo. Whilst Jack can be naughty he is an absolute lovely dog to have around.

Jack
I’m Homed
Jack arrived at our home very calm, he is staying with us for a couple of day to learn the ropes of living in a house. Of course, as expected he had a couple of accidents indoors. Charlotte (our Greyhound) has told Jack off twice when he was being a bit over eager. Our Charlotte and Jack been in the garden together. Charlotte was relaxing, whilst Jack was busy scent marking territory. He continued his initial exploring of the ground floor. Jack then settled for the floor near the front door and a mirror, Charlotte is residing on her Sofa as usual. He really has a fascination with the mirror. He is looking at his mirror image and even growled at his image. It has been quite funny to watch. I think he is now lying there to make sure his mirror image is behaving as well as the real Jack. Charlotte and Jack had a walk together along the canal. I do not walk this route often and had forgotten there is a bridge with stairs to conquer. Luckily for me Jack negotiated these well, also going down the stairs, well done Jack. I remember when we first got Charlotte, we had to teach her to go up and down the stairs as she would otherwise keep us awake at night. After a couple of hours Charlotte and Jack both did not need to muzzle at home. I only put them back on for Jack when our four-year-old whirl wind come home, probably more for Jacks safety ???? Jack has been really good with our four-year-old daughter. She was being noisy, sudden movements, all the things you would expect from a four-year-old. Jack was curious but not really fussed. I must say Jack has done really well for his first day in a home environment with a noisy and active four-year-old. I am really pleased he has settled in so well. Yes he needs to learn about our rules and the accidents but he is clever and picks things up well. Lets see how his first night will be.
