Nadie (Nadia)
I’m Homed
I can't believe today is only 4 days since we adopted Nadie. She is such a gorgeous little girl. She's tiny at only a size 26 and 25 kg. She's settled in very well - way over our expectations although we know it's sometimes 2 steps forward, 1 step back. She's been introduced into our busy lifestyle from the start. We visited Nerys and Cousin Donny (was Dice) on Saturday afternoon then spent the day volunteering at kennels on Sunday where she was introduced to Socks the cat. She seemed ok at first but was then a bit too interested. I think she'll get used to cats in time. After that we went to pick up her human brother to bring him home. Yesterday we had a short walk at Waseley Hills where she saw little off lead dogs, children playing etc probably for the first time. She was interested and was a little bouncy at times but she was a very good girl. We then met for cake and drinks (sausages for the dogs) with Maisie Grey, ower Monts and cousin Gorgeous George. We tried to watch TV last night but she was completely baffled (by the picture not the sound) so we turned it off and will introduce it slowly. She's slept right through the night all 3 nights - they all sleep in with us. We've had 2 'accidents' - one on day 1 right by the open back door bless her, she was desperate. The other was by the stairgate. She'd been drinking loads, probably from being a bit stressed. Today she went for her first walk around where we live with the boys. She isn't keen on big vehicles clattering over bumps but other than that she walked beautifully with Skip. Sam is walked alone as he's a puller! When they got back they played with some soft squeaky toys I got from the honesty box at Daybreaks. Sam wasn't keen when she got close and gave a little grumble. He's been a bit put out as he isn't the youngest any more (Nadie's only 4 months younger) but I've told him he'll always be my baby Sam. I think he likes her really as she likes to play. Also, when I wasn't there cousin Gorgeous George's mummy got a photo of him gently resting his head across her neck. So sweet. She spends a lot of time roaching (and I mean A LOT) so I think she must be happy. She's also eating and drinking well. We're on holiday caravanning at the end of the month so we're going to introduce her to the caravan tomorrow. See what she thinks of the home on wheels! Daddy Simon is taking lots of photos and doing write ups on the kennels Facebook page. Thank you so much to Jo for making me the appointment on Friday (I think she had the homing papers ready at that point - "just looking" isn't in my vocabulary 😮 ) and to Kate for doing the rehoming. And to Ruth, of course, for keeping the kennels going for the past 14 years. Lynne x

Well I have been a very busy boy! I’ve been helping with some cleaning. These hoomans left these plastic boxes around so I decided to help by chewing them. It made the process of getting rid of things a lot quicker when I got hold of them. I don’t know if they appreciated my help! I left wonderful teeth marks in everything! I also thought I’d have some fun with Mommy’s headphones. I wanted to listen to some music but I couldn’t figure out how it worked... I left them on the ground hoping mommy wouldn’t find out I borrowed them. Unfortunately I may have left some teeth marks in them too..... I am very good boy now as I am obeying the command ‘wait’ at the road when crossing! Unfortunately the command doesn’t work when I see a cat or squirrel. We will have to work on that hehe. I am a fuss monster. I don’t let my sister rest. If she is in the same room the rule is to Fuss me. If I’m ignored I will bark! Russ Xx

Met the irrepressible Mike today. What a lovely happy boy. He enjoyed his walk and walks nicely on the lead. Yvonne said he had a good time running in the sand run this morning and came back to her when she called him He can be a bit vocal but I think he just wants company. Gorgeous dog xxxxx

It was fairly quiet for visitors today, probably as we only had two candidates for homing!! Tango is a very energetic live wire and Mike is a lovely lad. Nadie came in with her mom, dad and brothers Skip and Sam. I think that Sam is still a little put out by the new arrival...get used to it mate, she's a girl and will soon take over, whatever pecking order you think you may have, my Sarah is living proof Nadie is just so gorgeous. Thanks to our lovely volunteers who came in today, with only four dogs things were done in record time. We will have some new arrivals this week so keep an eye out on our website. X
