We have a slight technical hitch with the photos on the website, particularly the homing photos. Please don't panic and think the new owners don't want their pictures on there. If you click on the dog you are looking at and scroll down the photos you will see their lovely family homing photo at the end. Hopefully this problem will be resolved soon! It was lovely to see Paddy and Blue go off to their respective homes, good luck lads. X Another homing tomorrow for a very lucky hound and viewings booked...so fingers crossed. It is so very rewarding to see them trot off to their new homes :)) Hoping Lady Victoria (Kate) is soon feeling better. Xx

Paddy is such an affectionate boy, we’ve had the usual pacing and panting but after a few short walks, some territory marking and afternoon tea, he has settled in his bed and is happily sleeping. Thanks to everyone at Daybreaks for your support we will send some pics, hugs to all the other hounds xoxo

Thought we would be thin on the ground today, but no. Lots of volunteers arrived to help out today! Poor Ed got bitten yesterday so a vet trip this morning, thank you so much Tina & Ellis. I had a a few Pampers and nail clips, lovely to see homed hounds. Dasher is all bathed and ready to go tomorrow. The inmates got both walks today and the sand run was fully booked. It was lovely to see Paddy and Blue off to their new homes 🙂 xx

CORONA VIRUS INFORMATION AND PRECAUTIONS Coronaviruses are a large group of viruses that affect humans and animals’ respiratory systems. There are no specific treatments for coronavirus infection, so preventing the virus is very important. Symptoms to look out for include: Runny nose/ Headache/ Cough/ Sore throat/Fever/A general feeling of being unwell Wash your hands frequently Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands. Maintain social distancing Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing. Why? When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth Why? Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. Practice respiratory hygiene Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene. This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then dispose of the used tissue immediately. Why? Droplets spread virus. By following good respiratory hygiene you protect the people around you from viruses such as cold, flu and COVID-19. If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early Stay home if you feel unwell. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention and call in advance. Follow the directions of your local health authority. Why? National and local authorities will have the most up to date information on the situation in your area. Calling in advance will allow your health care provider to quickly direct you to the right health facility. This will also protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections. Please do not enter the kennels should you suspect you have the virus or have been unwell over the last 2 weeks. Should you require assistance, please call the kennels and we can assist you with purchase of food or other requests. We have gloves available for visitors and volunteers to use as a precaution and hand washing facilities and gel are available.

We were a bit thin on the ground today but the boys & girls did get a nice walk this morning. We decided to take them into the sand run this afternoon, but rain - or should I say a torrential downpour and a hailstorm - stopped play!! New boy Joey is very handsome and is settling well, sadly Lady2 is still quite stressed but she does enjoy her food and wolfs it down so that is good. Hopefully she will soon start to relax. Dice's head is healing nicely, and he is still a bouncy boy. I checked the perimeter for squirrels before we stepped out because he still likes to look out for them!! Ed had a visit from his new Mum this morning, they are very excited to take him home soon. Another weekend is upon us, and my glass tonight will be raised to all our lovely boys & girls - may forever homes soon be theirs. x Take care all - cheers. Angie xx

We had lots of help today :)) Norman took Joey to the park and all the other girls and boys enjoyed walks in the sun although it was a little chilly...where is spring?? Alan and Declan had a trip to the warehouse and actually found toilet rolls 🙂 but no hand wash... Many thanks to everyone who popped in with bedding and items for our donation table. So very kind of you. And of course a big Thursday thank you to Alan and Paddy for the donuts! Xxx

Poor little lady, she keeps on making the end of her tail bleed by wagging it so much in her kennel. :(( She keeps having to have a dressing on it. She is a sweet little girl who desperately needs a loving forever home. Xxx

Caro, what is meant to be. Your magnificent Jed would not think you were being disloyal. He would be saying that you would be giving another deserving hound a very loving and happy home. Hoping Lottie and he get on. Can't wait to see you on Sunday. Xxx

Caro, please don't feel disloyal, jed would be so proud of you. Its so hard when you loose a beloved baby but i honestly think that our rainbow bridge loved ones send other animals to help those they've sadly left behind. Jed will send you the right hound to look after you all! Good luck xxx

Having gone through the same recently with our girl Amber, we have some idea of what you are going through and wish you all the very best. It is terrible to lose a dog, but even worse when you also have a bereaved dog at home. We really hope that Lottie likes Joey - I didn't think we'd find a friend for Amber since she is so tricky - but I believe there is a dog out there for everyone. Good luck, we have our fingers crossed for you.
