Over the Rainbow Bridge
Yay....Granny has finally gotten round to officially changing my name from Fergal Daybreaks to Fergal Connolly. I was beginning to think I hadn't behaved well enough these past 9 months!! Daddy is delighted as he is now very elderly and was panicking he might not be around to see the adoption. He says he now knows I am in good hands. I love my Daddy and Granny soooo much and of course my wonderful stepbrother who licks my ears nearly every day to show me how much he cares. May all the other foster boys and girls be lucky to soon be adopted. Lots of love to everyone from Fergal xxxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Thank you Florence for my birthday wish! Here's to the next 50 years! Today I carried out a Whatsapp home visit for the new owners of Nell following a socially distanced meet and greet at the weekend with Nell's current foster family. All has gone well and she is off on trial to her new home tomorrow - very exciting! I took Blue who had been returned on Saturday from foster to one of our volunteers on Monday and so far, so good - he is doing well. If he likes his new foster home - it may become a permanent one so please keep your fingers crossed! We had him at home over the weekend and he was absolutely fabulous and Momma and Tiggy loved him. I have been back to the kennels today to collect post and tidy a few things and am back again tomorrow - the fire alarm is nearly installed now and the painting (kindly funded by some very kind supporter) is transforming the place - it looks fabulous and fresh - just what the kennels needed. Along with 3 skips now emptied and a few things being moved and changed, the place is getting there. I have been overwhelmed at the amazing donations coming in following my appearance in a magazine last week - nearly £3000 in generous donations which has been a godsend as we have had to cancel all of our fundraising events out and about. If you are on Facebook, there is an online auction accessible through the events on the Daybreaks Trust Group Chat - not all items are dog related so please have a look and a bid.... all funds benefiting Daybreaks for when we reopen - hopefully in the not too distant future. Keep safe everyone x

I'm Happy to say that Jess seems to be back to her normal self ( thanks for listening to me on the phone Ruth, Kate and Jo) she's back to her normal diet of Burns Pork and Potato and is coming second again in the how fast can we finish our food race again Celia always wins and Carrie always comes last , this has all been a bit of a mystery really , sure everyone and everything gets ill but such a dramatic weight loss in such a short space of time , I honestly thought I was going to lose her , she still has a noticeable Gurgel in her belly sometimes but has kept her food down for days now without being sick and has perked up massively , even though she still waits for me to cuddle her and say "you are such a pretty girl" before she eats

We took Lola to the vets for a check up today. I'm very pleased to say the vet said that she is making good progress. Lola is sporting a luminous pink bandage tonight, very lady like. It was nice to see she still has a waggy tail and is eating well too. Going back on Friday for another dressing change,she was very brave and was a very good girl having her dressing changed as it must have hurt. All the neighbours have been very kind sending get well cards and a large donation towards her vet care, lovely people xx
