Yesterday at the kennels, as Kate said, I felt numb... seeing empty kennels when we have so many who should be there, is just heartbreaking. With regard to buying food, we do still have limited stock at the kennels so don’t panic! If you need some we will arrange pick up times with you as we are not on site now. I have just spoken to the warehouse who have no Burns in stock currently. However I have 20 sacks arriving direct from Burns in a couple of days. If you need food, please call 0121 7827702. We can deliver too to help you stay in and safe x

So long as I'm with Dad, nothing else matters, he is so lovely and I love him, I follow him everywhere, to think he was initially interested in that nutter Celia (please don't tell her that I called her a nutter but she is) anyway to think me and Dad might never have met is actually heartbreaking, I so love being with him and Dad says Im worth his stiff neck from me sleeping on his bed in a position that only greyhounds can get into. To be honest, Jess is just wonderful, she is so lovely and I adore her and she's just like a Puppy Carla ( aka Mummy) Celia is a completely wild animal and Carrie just doesn't bother and is like " yeah get on with it because there will never be another me"

Dad says Im a fighter, not a lover, He says he knows thats not the normal way round for that quote and its normally Im a lover not a fighter but ~I really am a fighter and I stop at nothing to get pancakes ,I even went outside today despite Boris telling me to STAY AT HOME ,anyway its all a bit wierd here lots of banging today and the three of us were all shut in our bedroom and when I got to go downstairs to have a look , the kitchen had gone , completely, I mean everything just gone , so no food to steal , Dad says things will get better after the War on the virus and the flood that Dennis gave us ,but its still proper weird at the moment , anyway Im off to fight Dad for his Sherry , I love Sherry , Coca Cola , Pancakes and wine and Dad has to Carry his drinking glass with him all the time or else I fight him for the contents, Dad says Carrie or any other dog hes lived with hasnt ever been as Crazy as me so that must mean Im the best at being crazy and he must love me ( well apart from his Precious Princess Jess who he absolutely adores and I think she loves him to bits becuase they always cuddle and sleep side by side ) , but I think he likes me as well....sometimes, I am trying to be good but being bad is more fun

It's been a year today since we "fostered" Bobby! He is the most amazing lad and it's been an absolute pleasure to have him in our family. He is very wobbly now and he has health issues but ...he is the most determined and resilient lad I have met, a true gentleman! Lots of love to you my sweetheart. Xxx

It was a day of very mixed emotions today...it was great to see our final three girls going off to their new homes but after Queenie left it was as if she took the last breath away from the kennels. It was so very quiet. :(( It's different when we foster all the dogs out at Christmas, it's a special time of year and we know it's only for a couple of weeks before some of them return or new girls and boys arrive. This time we have no idea how long it will be before we are once again greeted each morning by happy, beautiful Greyhounds ready to start a new chapter of their lives. Xxx We are so grateful to everyone who has adopted or fostered over the last few days. Thank you so much for your patience at the really busy times. We really hope you enjoy getting to know your new friend and family member! :)))) We were hoping to be able to take in a few more dogs this week but after yesterday's message from the Government we decided it wasn't the right thing to do at this time. 🙁 There is a plus side! Many have unexpected extra time to spend with their dogs, I'm sure they will appreciate seeing more of you! :)) If anything can make things seem a little brighter it is the love of a special Greyhound or two or three...... Thanks so much to Dave and Declan for their help today and to Ruth for having the calls again! :)) Sending lots of love to everyone, stay safe and well. Xxx Kate Xxx

    I’m Homed

Well Joe has had an eventful few days to cope with arrival Sunday and to the vets for his op on Monday so understandably on a fast learning curve. The good news is that Lottie has starting eating properly again since he arrived and so far no grumbles from either of them early days I know. At the moment he is not quite confident to join us prefers his safe bed in the office but pops his head round the door every so often to see where we are.

In this very stressful and scary time please everyone be sensible and think of the bigger picture . If we all take care and take precautions, we can all come out the other side and move forward. Stay safe everyone, look after your doggies and yourselves. As my husband ticks so many of the boxes, we have pulled up the drawbridge!! See you on the other side. Angie xx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Just a quick hello to all Greys and their Humans. Hope you are keeping well and stay well. Daisy will have been with Tim & Sue a year next week. She is a live wire. (I can't wait to see her run properly). Stanley, poor old fella is a bit wobbly with his arthritis at the moment, not walking too far but still ran (or bounce) across the back garden when someone walked passed other side of fence. Can certainly still bark when Tim hasn't got his tea ready!!! Love to all. Take care. Spanner, Tim, Sue, Stanley & Daisy xx Stay safe.
