Susie has very much enjoyed her walk this evening meeting cattle & calves along the way. She wasn’t at all worried by their size or mooing! Shes a pleasure to walk and trots along with Eric, Mavis & Blitz. In the house she’s really clean and let’s you know if she needs to go out. She’s now used to hairdryers, vacuums and Xbox!

Hi guys, is the sand run still open for use? I have been taking my greys on walks for 2-3 hrs daily round where I live which they absolutely love but one of mine is very energetic with a high prey drive and I feel a good run would do him good!!! I am only in Marston Green so about a 5 min drive from the kennels, do you think I am allowed to drive there (alone with the dogs) and if so are you still running the slots? Regards. Hilary x

Hi Dave yes Mark knows how you feel but its been a lot harder for him to accept he's been basically in isolation since Jan after his shoulder operation and just as he's starting to be allowed out he's told he's got to stop in,Be strong Dave hopefully it will all be back to normal soon and just enjoy that extra 1 to 1 time with Maisie,Tanya,Mark,Nifty,Cilla n Flo xx

Hi Dave, was thinking about you & Maisiemoo funnily enough today. Like Ruth, no chance to be bored with my 3 boys & house & garden to look after. Am in process of losing all my work sadly so a very worrying time but with my 3 its constant cleaning, washing, walking etc etc. I have loads of projects to get on with & am trying to eat better by cooking etc. Spoke to Jo yday. She must have forgotten me today....she was going to tell me when we could come to sand run. We all had a lovely hrs walk instead. The village is wonderfully quiet. I wish it was like this forever. Maybe you can learn to cook a bit more, make some nice homemade snacks for maisiemoo. I have nice recipes if you want. Dont know if you like tv but again I have 660 hrs worth of stuff recorded to watch!! Plenty of books to read as well. I am sorry you feel bored. I do think being housebound is much easier for women then men. Human nature dictates that generally women get on with home stuff. Keep positive......it wont last forever. Every day that dawns is a day towards the end & a return to normality. Look after yourselves. Seana, Melly, Teddy & Fergal xxx

Sorry Dave - not a chance! I don't stop! My desk is full of stuff to do and got so many projects I want to do and don't get round to. Why don't you take Maisie up to the sand run - you are both allowed out and you could give it a rake at the same time!!!!.... you did ask!!!!! x ps let me know if you do, as I have taken bookings and to avoid contact with others - just whatsapp me x

We currently have 17 x 12kg sacks of Burns Sensitive in stock as well as many bags of 6kg and 2kg. If you need some, please call the kennels on 0121 782 7702 to reserve your bag. The best time to call regarding food orders is between 10am and 12.30pm. Thanks very much. Ruth

Ok little bit of advice please had a couple of instances today with Lottie barking and go for Joe if he happens to be on a bed she wants Joe as far as I can see hasn’t reacted and just got out of the way. Do I leave them to sort it out? On the plus side Lottie is eating much better since he arrived having completely gone off her food since losing Jed.

Hi Lewisfuggie & Liz_beth, Thank you very much for your help responses - I am really grateful. I will call Ruth first thing tomorrow then to see if she still has any bags available and if so if she could pretty please save one for me!!! I understand they are probably in demand and she may not have any left now but worth a try .... Thank you Liz_beth for your reccommendation of ordering through Zooplus, I have this evening ordered three bags from them, they are not due until a week Monday but if I do manage to get some from Daybreaks I should be able to last 🙂 Thanks so much and to all of you stay safe and take care. It's been very strange not being at the kennels today. I really miss being there with the dogs. On the upside, I have spent time at home with the furry five! They have in turn over the past couple of days come in to the garden and spent some time on their beds in the sun. I have sat out too enjoying the fresh air and have managed to get lots of washing done!! Not that sure they enjoyed having their nails trimmed, actually me neither, not my favourite task! Hoping you and your hounds are all well and safe. Take care. Jo xx

@Lulu'smom I buy my burns from zooplus.co.uk. Just looked and it is in stock. I recommend DPD as your best delivery option. Delivery 8-9 days at moment if you can at least get one bag from kennels and wait that long.

Hi Daybreaks Ruth, I have completely run out of Burns Pet food for my five greys and whippet! I have been trying to find it online but all of the stores have either run out completely or are not processing orders currently. I also ideally need at least three bags of the stuff as can't be without..... I can't seem to find any left in the supermarkets or pet stores locally to me and obviously we can't venture too far at the moment in search for it! I was just wondering if Burns is what you stocked at Daybreaks and whether I would be able to purchase some? Thankyou xx

Andy and I popped to the kennels yesterday afternoon to collect items ordered from our web shop and to pack away the delivery of Burns that had arrived! We have 20 bags in stock currently so if you need food please call 0121 782 7702. I will be at the kennels between 10am and 11.30 today for collection. Our webshop can be found at https://daybreaks.selz.com/ Tiggy and Momma came with with us and had a great time in the sand run. The run remains open and sessions can be booked and paid for by calling the kennels. We are booking slots an hour apart so you shouldn’t come into contact with anyone! Kate popped up to the kennels and we did a stock take over the phone first thing and to see Tyke and Socks our resident cats off on their holiday.... thank you so much Sue and now our only resident on site is Miss Pepper (aka McNugget) who laid her first egg in months! She must be enjoying the peace and quiet! For those of you who know Bob who owns The kennels, he remains in good health. Remember we are at the end of the phone if you need anything x

Our two beautiful pussy cats Socks and Tyke went off to stay with Aunty Sue and Uncle John this morning. They usually stay with them at Christmas so it's like home from home for them. 🙂 Will really miss them. 🙁 Xxx We have one remaining resident at the kennels, Pepper, Ruth's Chicken. I am very fond of this little bundle of brown feathers! She amazed me this morning by producing a lovely pale blue egg! She hasn't done that for nearly twelve months...Bless her! Xx Lyra had a great time today, no dogs around so she was free to run in and out of the runs and lay on a bed in the sunshine. 🙂 I did some cleaning and tidying....really hope it won't be too long before we can welcome new Greyhounds back into Daybreaks.
