Daybreaks Diary!

Hello all! Hope everyone is staying safe and well and managing to get supplies. Michael & I are operating a "work & reward" system - we must do some sort of constructive work in the morning, then we can sit and play board games, watch films and drink wine in the afternoon! Really miss my time at the kennels and our beautiful boys & girls - hope all the newly homed doggies are settling in well, and our foster girlies are being good and learning lots about home life. Lets hope it's not too long before we can all get back together again and move forward - until then, stay safe. Love Angie x

Well after a few hiccups between Lottie and Joe things seem to be getting better (touch wood) he is still a “tea leaf” my oven gloves disappeared at high speed out of the kitchen today and he has launched himself onto my bed a couple of times. He is making progress and realising that Lottie was here first and he is the second in command! He must be fairly content here as he roaches on a regular basis and can be seen quite often on his back with his feet in the air. The garden has been thoroughly explored and after a few very fast fly bys of my greenhouse he has thankfully realised it is a “building” phew! Hopefully he will continue to take things in his stride. Thank you Ruth for the advice and support he will get there.

I will be at the kennels from 10.30 til 12 if anyone needs food. Please phone first though! I also have 5 litres of hand sanitizer so if you have bottles that need refilled I can do for a small donation x

Glad to hear Lyra's better. We miss seeing everyone and I'm sure Skip and Sam miss seeing the other dogs. Especially when we went to the sand run without going into the kennels! Can't wait for normality to resume (even if there are still restrictions) so we can get back to volunteering. x

I spent some time today at the kennels, still very strange without any dog's. I managed to sort a lot of paperwork out as it was so very quiet. Arry came to keep me company, even he was confused! Although he had the run of the kennels he decided that the bed in the office was the best place to be :)) I went to get Pepper McNuggets food and water bowls from the aviary, no egg....until I went back with fresh food and water, low and behold there she was in her bed, she got up and hey presto one lovely blue egg and still warm. She was very talkative and enjoyed the company I think. I checked on Bob, he is in good spirits, hope enjoys the couple of dinners I took him. Hope you are all staying safe and well, the sooner this 'thing' is under control the sooner we can resume normal service. Lots of our lovely volunteers are missing coming in,I have spoken to a few, we are after all a family...the Daybreaks Family Take care everyone. Jo x

Hi Lady here, ive been having a whale of a time with Ringo over the last couple of weeks. Ive been walking really nicely and havent been scared by cars or lorrys, infact i saw a cat yesterday and decided not to bark or try and chase it. I worked the stairs out in 30 secs after Ringo ran up so now its a race to the best bed. I go to the toilet outside and quite like having cuddles now too. Dad says my fur is coming back on my bum and coat is looking real shiny.

A big cuddle for Lyra tonight. Two weeks ago she managed to slice her carpal pad whilst playing in the garden with Fletcher. She had a trip to the vets without me as I had recently had a cold and understandably due to the Corona Virus situation I wasn't allowed to take her. Richard very kindly took her for me and picked her up later in the day after she had five stitches. He and Lucy also took her for a dressing change too, thank you both so much. Xxx Trying to keep her quiet, stop her bouncing from bed to bed, playing with her toys and running around the garden has been so difficult as these are the things she loves to do!!! 🙂 No walks the first week and only short walks last week, she has been so very fed up and frustrated. Her stitches were due to come out today and with the vets permission I took them out this afternoon. Touch wood all looks good. :)) She celebrated by chasing her ball around the garden. She was so happy! :)) She is affectionately known at home as Lyra Nightmare....always doing something she shouldn't! We love our little spotty dog very much. :))) Xxx
