Daybreaks Diary!

Had an absolutely fabulous time up at the kennels for a short while yesterday and met Kelly’s new owner who is one of our volunteers. As a home check was required a WhatsApp video call later that afternoon was done.... the power of technology!!! As Kate mentioned, we are running low on food and we urge people to restrict to one bag when buying. Also the kennels will only be open for those booking an appointment. In view of the recommended lockdown, I urge the vulnerable and elderly not to visit... if you desperately need food we can possibly arrange delivery... please call the kennels if you need help regarding anything x

Well Ed has had his first night in his new home. He has been such a good boy. He had a nice walk this morning which he was looking forward to. He has enjoyed his breakfast and is now fast asleep. He has revelled in lots of tummy rubbing as well. Will send some pics soon. We must say thank you to all the fantastic people at Daybreaks. You were all extremely helpful, well informed and friendly. We hope to see you on a group walk in the future. Will be back to use the sand run soon too . Ed sends a big cuddle to you all xxx

Susie is a beautiful, petite little girl! She weighs around 22Kg so curls up really small! She is very affectionate and oh so very cute! Sending her my cuddle tonight. Xxx

What an incredible day! Really crazy but by 5 O'clock this evening we had Misty and Ed homed, Kelly, Lady 2, Billy reserved and Lady 1, Nell and Dice fostered!...Dice will be going out tomorrow. :))) Little Susie is our only resident to find herself looking for a home or foster home. 🙁 Maybe tomorrow! Xxx Thanks you so much to everyone who called regarding fostering one of our Greyhounds. The response was fantastic, I think the last count was 21 with one more to be added to the list from a call I took on the way home. It is wonderful to know there are still people who care. Xxxx We are waiting for confirmation regarding a date for the installation of the fire alarm system, so we will be taking more dogs into the kennels from the waiting list who will need foster homes whilst the work is being undertaken. Ruth popped in for a while this morning, she is looking so much better! Despite our protests she insisted on "doing stuff" before Andy managed to drag her off home. :)))) Xxx We had lots of visitors for food today so consequently we have only a few bags left. We will hopefully be making another trip to the warehouse next week. It might be worth calling the kennels before setting off to check what we have left in stock. Xx Thank you to all our great volunteers today :)) It was a busy day for us all.

Susie is very sweet. Walks well. She gets my cuddle today as she's the only houndie not fostered or reserved. Hopefully someone will fall in love with her very soon. She's only been in kennels since Thursday so anyone viewing her should bear in mind she hasn't fully settled in yet and her character will develop.
