In this very stressful and scary time please everyone be sensible and think of the bigger picture . If we all take care and take precautions, we can all come out the other side and move forward. Stay safe everyone, look after your doggies and yourselves. As my husband ticks so many of the boxes, we have pulled up the drawbridge!! See you on the other side. Angie xx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Just a quick hello to all Greys and their Humans. Hope you are keeping well and stay well. Daisy will have been with Tim & Sue a year next week. She is a live wire. (I can't wait to see her run properly). Stanley, poor old fella is a bit wobbly with his arthritis at the moment, not walking too far but still ran (or bounce) across the back garden when someone walked passed other side of fence. Can certainly still bark when Tim hasn't got his tea ready!!! Love to all. Take care. Spanner, Tim, Sue, Stanley & Daisy xx Stay safe.

We'd asked Jo to put us a bag of food on one side if any became available and we were going to pick it up tomorrow. As we can't get there now please let it go to someone else that maybe lives nearer. Stay safe everyone. Xx

Covii (Lou/Sunny), has settled in very nicely. She is such a cutie and loves her squeaky toys, we may have to hide them when we want to watch TV!!! Clean and quiet through the night and prefers the sofa to her own bed. Looking forward to seeing her personality come out over the next few days, she is such a beauty xx

Another busy day, Penny and Lou went off to their new homes and little Susie has been fostered! Xxx Shirley and Richard went off to the warehouse and managed to find a few more bags of food, bless them! Thank you so much. Xxx Although we only had six dogs in we were unable to go for walks today. Dave took some in the sand run and the others had time out playing with toys in the kennel runs. On a much brighter note, Phil (Rio and Ella's Dad) was sponsored by his workmates to make sausage sandwiches for our residents :)) He did a wonderful job and wow did they love them!! As we didn't have a full house they had them for breakfast and brunch. :)) Thanks so much Phil! Phil his wife Sylvia also donated lots of boxes of goodies which included toilet rolls! :))) We are so grateful. Xxx A big thank you to Dave for all his hard work today and to Ruth who had the phone calls all day! Xxxxxx Our three remaining residents were all tucked up with a dentastix tonight. :)) Kate Xxx

I did pop into the kennels on Saturday to offer my services as a Foster family. Having lost our two greyhounds in the last year .... Sadie and Katy who we had from Daybreaks in Spring 2011 and 2012. If you think we maybe the right family for Susie we are very happy to come and meet her and foster her. Xx

Morning everyone! Well the work of Daybreaks continues but we are urging people to please stay away from the kennels. If you are in lockdown and you need food for your dogs, we are starting a delivery service so please call the kennels if you require this. If anyone needs help with their dogs especially during this scary time we will do all we can to help. Just please call us X

    I’m Homed

A busy morning today, Dice has gone out on foster (I've heard that before, well I've been there, done that and failed....twice)!! The handsome Joey and Billy, now Cam went off to their respective new homes. Two very lucky hounds indeed. X Never mind stockpiling, hoarding and panic buying groceries, the greyhounds are flying out, our shelves will soon be empty!!! Thanks to everyone who came in and helped out, your support is amazing. I can only see us having fewer volunteers coming in understandably due to the current crisis. Please keep checking the website for updates on the kennels situation. Please all take care, stay safe and hopefully normal service will be resumed soon.
