It's been very strange not being at the kennels today. I really miss being there with the dogs. On the upside, I have spent time at home with the furry five! They have in turn over the past couple of days come in to the garden and spent some time on their beds in the sun. I have sat out too enjoying the fresh air and have managed to get lots of washing done!! Not that sure they enjoyed having their nails trimmed, actually me neither, not my favourite task! @Lulu'smom I buy my burns from zooplus.co.uk. Just looked and it is in stock. I recommend DPD as your best delivery option. Delivery 8-9 days at moment if you can at least get one bag from kennels and wait that long.

Hi Daybreaks Ruth, I have completely run out of Burns Pet food for my five greys and whippet! I have been trying to find it online but all of the stores have either run out completely or are not processing orders currently. I also ideally need at least three bags of the stuff as can't be without..... I can't seem to find any left in the supermarkets or pet stores locally to me and obviously we can't venture too far at the moment in search for it! I was just wondering if Burns is what you stocked at Daybreaks and whether I would be able to purchase some? Thankyou xx

Andy and I popped to the kennels yesterday afternoon to collect items ordered from our web shop and to pack away the delivery of Burns that had arrived! We have 20 bags in stock currently so if you need food please call 0121 782 7702. I will be at the kennels between 10am and 11.30 today for collection. Our webshop can be found at https://daybreaks.selz.com/ Tiggy and Momma came with with us and had a great time in the sand run. The run remains open and sessions can be booked and paid for by calling the kennels. We are booking slots an hour apart so you shouldn’t come into contact with anyone! Kate popped up to the kennels and we did a stock take over the phone first thing and to see Tyke and Socks our resident cats off on their holiday.... thank you so much Sue and now our only resident on site is Miss Pepper (aka McNugget) who laid her first egg in months! She must be enjoying the peace and quiet! For those of you who know Bob who owns The kennels, he remains in good health. Remember we are at the end of the phone if you need anything x

Our two beautiful pussy cats Socks and Tyke went off to stay with Aunty Sue and Uncle John this morning. They usually stay with them at Christmas so it's like home from home for them. 🙂 Will really miss them. 🙁 Xxx We have one remaining resident at the kennels, Pepper, Ruth's Chicken. I am very fond of this little bundle of brown feathers! She amazed me this morning by producing a lovely pale blue egg! She hasn't done that for nearly twelve months...Bless her! Xx Lyra had a great time today, no dogs around so she was free to run in and out of the runs and lay on a bed in the sunshine. 🙂 I did some cleaning and tidying....really hope it won't be too long before we can welcome new Greyhounds back into Daybreaks. Susie is settling in really well with her big brother Eric and sisters Blitz & Mavis. She has for the past two days enjoyed sunbathing, eating and having lots of love. She is adorable, loves any attention (and she’s getting that by the bucket load) she’s gentle with treats and doesn’t pester at the table. She has the perfect manners and walks nicely on the lead. She has so much to give, in fact she’s just an all round star! Xxxx

I'm pretty sure pets at home sell burns food dearer I know , and I do know the shop at walsall and oldbury the one I use for Trish are still open,maybe worth a phone call if people finding it hard to find supplies.May you all take good care of yourselves and all the greyhounds too. I popped to the kennels this morning to collect some stuff, feed the cats and our resident chicken, Pepper (aka McNuggets)! Sorry Ruth. X It was eerily quiet, I am so used to hear the exciting barking of the dogs when they hear the gate open. As Kate said, Christmas foster is very different. So soul destroying that we have no dog's in :((( I really don't know what else to say apart from stay safe and well, look after yourselves and your precious hounds, and thanks to everyone who has been in and helped. You are all amazing and hope you are all well. Jo xx

I have a thief in the house no one is owning up but me thinks it might be one handsome new addition to the family. The biscuit treat container has been raided and taken to someone’s bed???? Thankfully there wasn’t a lot in it.
