I visited Miss Pepper this morning. :)) She was a happy girl today and we had quite a chat!! 🙂 She also laid another beautiful blue egg. Xx Saturday is usually a really busy day at the kennels...but so quiet today. Bob found me some jobs to do to keep me occupied for a while! Xxx Please stay well everyone! Joe is settled really well he has a companion Lottie there were a few minor hiccups initially but things have settled down now and he is a lovely lad. His character is starting to come out there is a cheeky side he likes to steal things like my oven gloves or hat and disappear with them to his bed. I have a large garden which he really loves exploring and sun bathing in. It was nice to hear a little bit about his previous life you obviously thought a lot of him. I will treasure him and give him a good retirement.

Nice to hear that joey has found his forever home I know joey very very well as I was his racing kennel hand for most of his career he absolutely hates not having a companion with him in the kennels and if we ever had an unsettled bitch we stuck them in with joey to calm them down n show them the ropes

I spent a few hours at the kennels today catching up on some more paperwork. Checked on Bob and made him some lunch, he is doing well :)) As for resident chicken Miss Pepper McNuggets, she decided that it would be great fun when I went to get her food bowls to try and chase me and peck me. I came up with several new names for her, which I cannot post on here! She certainly is turning into a feisty bird!! It is still really strange not having any dogs in. Even my Arry didn't want to come with me today, my car has finally died and I'm using my husband's van whilst I can, I don't think he likes not being able to see where he is going! He really sulked when I got home, bless him. As ever, stay safe and take care. Jo xx

Daybreaks Diary!

Hello all! Hope everyone is staying safe and well and managing to get supplies. Michael & I are operating a "work & reward" system - we must do some sort of constructive work in the morning, then we can sit and play board games, watch films and drink wine in the afternoon! Really miss my time at the kennels and our beautiful boys & girls - hope all the newly homed doggies are settling in well, and our foster girlies are being good and learning lots about home life. Lets hope it's not too long before we can all get back together again and move forward - until then, stay safe. Love Angie x

Well after a few hiccups between Lottie and Joe things seem to be getting better (touch wood) he is still a “tea leaf” my oven gloves disappeared at high speed out of the kitchen today and he has launched himself onto my bed a couple of times. He is making progress and realising that Lottie was here first and he is the second in command! He must be fairly content here as he roaches on a regular basis and can be seen quite often on his back with his feet in the air. The garden has been thoroughly explored and after a few very fast fly bys of my greenhouse he has thankfully realised it is a “building” phew! Hopefully he will continue to take things in his stride. Thank you Ruth for the advice and support he will get there.

I will be at the kennels from 10.30 til 12 if anyone needs food. Please phone first though! I also have 5 litres of hand sanitizer so if you have bottles that need refilled I can do for a small donation x

Glad to hear Lyra's better. We miss seeing everyone and I'm sure Skip and Sam miss seeing the other dogs. Especially when we went to the sand run without going into the kennels! Can't wait for normality to resume (even if there are still restrictions) so we can get back to volunteering. x
