Happy 9th Birthday to our gorgeous Skippy Doo!! He is currently in his usual place....bed! Chicken dinner tonight followed by an egg custard for all for dessert! Skip likes to lick the custard out first and then eat the pastry :))) Lots of love to our lovely lad. Xxxx

So sorry Kate. Bobby was one lucky boy to have you and your family looking after him - that's why he lived so much longer than his diagnosis, he was happy. xxx

Bobby (Best Vote) 3rd September 2007 - 7th April 2020 We had to let our beautiful Bobby go today. Xxx He came to us last March after his owner June passed away. He was perfect in every way and an absolute pleasure to look after. Despite being diagnosed with Liver cancer last May and given just a few weeks...he proved to be the most determined and resilient lad ever, earning him the name of Lazarus by John and his friends. 🙂 He was able to go to Breen for the day with many Greyhound friends, had a holiday with us in Woolacombe, celebrate his twelfth Birthday and enjoy lots of walks with Skip, Lyra and Fletcher. He even found time to get himself a very pretty girlfriend called Gem! Xx We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with June who absolutely adored him as he did her. I know she would have been waiting for him at Rainbow Bridge with open arms, together again forever. We are so grateful she let us borrow her wonderful lad for a while. Xx Dearest sweet Bobby, sending you all our love and more, Kate, John, Skip, Lyra and Fletch. Xxxxxxxxxxx

Hello all Greys and Humans, Hope you are all staying safe. Just to say Stanley has been living in the Diggins household for 7 years this weekend. Apart from a bit of arthritis Stanley is as handsome as ever (well I think so I sometimes call him my Prince Charming). Daisy is her usual self - races around the house and always in my pockets as she knows there will always be a treat even if their human Tim says no!!! Take care all. enjoy the weather if you can but remember to STAY SAFE. Anna, Tim, Sue and Stanley & Daisy. xx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
Yesterday Andy and I went to the kennels to pick up post, see Bob, sort food orders and collect Miss Pepper our resident chicken. Between myself, Kate and Jo, we have been going to the kennels every day but to reduce travelling, I have brought Pepper home and after a trip to collect a hutch from Pets at Home, Andy found himself building a new temporary home for Pepper! She is quite happy as she laid an egg for us this morning. It has been great at teaching Tigger and Momma to not go nuts when they see her (like they used to!) Just a couple of squirts from a plant sprayer and they are staying well clear! I am still taking all the calls which are redirected to me at home and we still have food in stock, so if you need any, please call the kennels on 0121 782 7702. We are just doing food collections on Saturday between 10.30 and 12.00. If you need a delivery, please call me. Again, I wish to reassure that we are here to help anyone who needs it especially if you have been affected by the current situation in any way. I have a list of foster homes lined up if needed! We can't wait for life to get back to normal - Daybreaks is just not right without the dogs and the bustle of each day. As we have cancelled all of our fundraising events, if you would like to make a donation you can do this in several ways - on line with your bank - our details are Barclays sort code 20 77 62, account number 93407764 or we have a page set up on JustGiving (we can directly claim Gift Aid with each donation eligible) or you can send a cheque (made payable to Daybreaks Trust) to 10 Coventry Road, Elmdon, Birmingham B26 3QS. As always - I am grateful for any support as without this, there would be no Daybreaks. x

I would like to thank Dave (Maisiemoodad) for coming in today. In true Dave style he swept the all around the kennels, not long after he finished the wind decided to take revenge and blow gusts of wind which blew more stuff of the trees. I kept hearing 'I hate nature', sorry Dave it was funny!! He also cleaned all the drainage channels in both kennel blocks :)) Arry and Maisie had a lovely time wandering around the kennels, with no other dogs they had a field day. Miss Pepper McNuggets was far more amiable today, she at least didn't decide to try and peck me when I got her food and water bowls, and there was another lovely little blue egg waiting for me. One more and we will have half a dozen! Hope you and yours are staying safe and well. Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon. Jo xx
