Thanks to all our dedicated volunteers who came in to help today. I truly was taken aback at how many people turned up under the current circumstances. Again, thank you all so much. Dasher update, he is great! He has settled very well, thanks to his 'grandparents' Alan and Myra (sorry guys) for showing just how settled he is! There were lots of calls to see if we're still open, until we are advised otherwise it is business as usual. Please check the site for daily updates. Kate is thankfully feeling much better, so hopefully tomorrow normal service will be resumed!! There were another couple of viewings this afternoon, fingers crossed and watch this space.... Finally, we also had the very sad news that Charlie Cheesecake, a regular Wednesday fixture of Daybreaks with Denise his mum crossed over Rainbow Bridge this afternoon. Another bright shining star watching over us tonight. Sleep tight Cheese with your sister Star, God bless, love and hugs to Denise. Xxx

We had lots of lovely volunteers today, so morning and afternoon walks were done, this mornings walks were rather soggy! Thanks all. Thanks too to Paul who took Lady out for the day to the Stratford walk with his boy Ringo. Apparently she was fantastic...hmm I wonder if Ringo would like a sister??? It started with a visit from Caro looking for a companion for Lottie who has been a little down after Jed crossed rainbow bridge. Lottie met handsome lad Joey, she wasn't even bothered when they came into the office and he decided to rest his head on her back...so very sweet. So that resulted in the first reservation of the day. Next was big cuddle monster Dasher who was signed up and went off home, all the very best to him and his family 🙂 Queenies turn next to be reserved, she really liked the family, I'm fairly sure she chose them! I spoke to the owners of both Blue and Paddy. They both had very settled nights and have been very good. So pleased for them both. There were several visitors for food....thankfully no panic buying or stockpiling yet!!! Sadly our Mother's day prosecco lunch has been postponed, as Angie has already mentioned we will give a new date once things start to settle. Take care all, stay warm and well. Jo x

Lady was a princess with us today. We took Ringo and collected her from the kennels for onward travel to the Stratford walk. She jumped in the car and settled down straight away with Ringo. No dramas on the 40 min drive, during the walk she was interested by a small poodle occasionaly but didnt react. With some gentle correction she walked very well and wasnt phased by other dogs or traffic. We got soaked so we did a pitstop on the way back at our home, Lady went into the garden for toilets had a wonder round, drank Ringos water then came and lay by him on a rug and dropped off. She was definately brighter when we returned to the kennels so hopefully we have made a small difference for her and hope she finds a loving home soon.

Well Joe you passed the Lottie test although I have to say she seemed more concerned with trying to remove her muzzle than paying you much attention. Look forward to bringing you home when a certain operation has been done etc etc. You will have very big paws to fill but hopefully you will manage it.
