How lovely it was to see the sun shining today even if still a little chilly. I even managed to hang washing out to dry, ironically Steve came in to fix the tumble dryer...again! Thanks to him for sorting it out, how long it will last is anybody's guess (it is a little old)! We had lots of lovely volunteers, so morning and afternoon walks were done and all inmates had extra cuddles. It was quite busy for visitors, there were several bookings for sand run fun, nail clipping and Lorna had a pamper to do. Not sure Meg was at all happy and was quite keen to make a speedy exit when she was done. Ed seems a bit happier, the swelling on his face is going down nicely, hasn't put him off his food. The antibiotics are taking their course. Dice is none the worse for his accident yesterday. He was very bright and happy, although he does look a bit odd with a shaved strip on his head, pesky squirrels! There were some viewings too. I have my fingers crossed that at least two of our residents may each have a red sign by the end of the week :)) There is potentially a further viewing tomorrow for one of them, although the family are building an ever increasing list of favourites and finding it very difficult to decide which will be the lucky hound. It was a fantastic day yesterday for reservations and homings, let's keep it going. There are so many deserving greys looking for their forever homes. X Thanks to everyone for their help today, I really appreciate it. It has also been a week tinged with sadness, with news that some of our previous residents hove gained their angel wings and crossed Rainbow Bridge. Let them run fast and free.xx

A cuddle for Dice tonight, he "bumped" his head into a metal gate after spotting a squirrel on the other side during his morning walk. What a noodle!!! Xxx

It was a very busy day today which saw two homings and two reservations and another unscheduled trip to the vets! Lola went home this morning. :)) She had been staying with us for a few days while her owner was in hospital. Many thanks to Alan who took her home. I know they have missed each other very much. Xx Blue and Lou ( sounds like a well known toilet cleaner!) went to help out at the road show in Solihull town centre. They were both great. 🙂 On her return Lou found a lovely lady waiting to meet her and shortly after was reserved. :)) Dashing Dasher was reserved too! He has a wonderful home waiting for him. Xx Trebles was signed up today. So very happy for him. He has a lovely new name Finn! Stan also went off to his new home 🙂 He couldn't wait to get in the car and even though he wasn't supposed to be sitting in the boot jumped in as soon as it was open. 🙂 We had to get him out again to get in the back of the car. Xxx Dice had a little accident during his morning walk. He saw a squirrel on the other side of the fence and despite it being a metal gate he decided he could use his head to break though and ended up with a nasty cut right in the middle of his head!! Jess and Lauren very kindly took him over to the vets in Moseley to get it checked out. What a silly billy he was! Xxx We had a lovely couple who came looking for a new member to add to their family after losing their Greyhound recently. They fell in love with most of the residents and just couldn't decide who to adopt 🙂 They went home to think about it. We did try to get them to adopt everyone they liked! :)) I have seen the photos of Tiggy's visit to Crufts today. It looks like she had a brilliant time! :)) xx Thank you so much to everyone for your help today. Without all our fabulous volunteers it would be impossible to keep the kennels going. 🙂 Xx Xxxx

Lou came on our Mell Square awareness day today by our volunteer Nick. She did really well with everyone and only took slight interest in the pigeons

I had the pleasure of taking Blue to the Mell Square roadshow, he was a fantastic travelling companion in the car. He behaved brilliantly meeting and greeting both adults and small children and met with a few small dogs. I took him for a small toilet break and walked slowly behind a pigeon Blue wasnt interested at all. He was strong on the lead at times but walked lovely. He is a lovely handsome boy.
