Wow what a difference a week at Daybreaks makes. Last Thursday this little girl was too scared to venture far, this week I took a doggy cup cake to see if I could lure her, but it wasn't required as she trotted along with Ringo and Blue very happily. I did however use a little piece of cake to get her back into her kennel. She's a super little girl. Xxxxx

Ringo gives lovely kisses, he walks so nicely and is such a happy boy. He walks happily with the other dogs is not bothered by the traffic noise and completely ignored a cyclist who passed him quite closely on the pavement. Fantastic boy. Xxxxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Thank you to whoever donated the jigsaw puzzles. My neighbours (80 And 81) do 2 or 3 a week then I have a go so the kennels get a double donation then we return them for someone else. They've done most of the ones there so will be pleased of a new batch. I should be bringing some more too as they've just picked some up from a charity shop. It's been years since I did a jigsaw but my neighbours gave me and Robert one to do on holiday last year and we're hooked. Simon helps sometimes too. We got a special surprise for the neighbours Christmas present - a My Ravensburger puzzle of Bert, my Rainbow Bridge boy. That won't be coming to kennels! She absolutely adored him and looked after him for us. They make excellent presents from an uploaded photo. I'm part way through doing it now as she leant it to me.

Daybreaks Diary!

Ok, Wednesday update. As always thanks to our Wednesday walkers . Fairly quiet for visitors, but if there are any jigsaw fans out there we received a whole new supply of these items, and I mean a whole lot! Thanks for the donation of these, I am really surprised how popular they are! I might have to get one and have a go! We had lots of lovely volunteers this afternoon so the dogs had nice afternoon walks in the sun and the cats had extra cuddles. Little Daisy actually managed two full walks today without having to be carried back to the kennels! I think the treats that wrre taken to coax her may have helped, but this afternoon she needed no extra encouragement and headed the walk back. Ruth popped in briefly with Momma and Tig, she hopefully will be having her surgery next week so fingers crossed she will be back at the kennels by the beginning of April all being well. Wishing her all the best, it has been a long and painful journey. We really do miss her and I know she terribly misses being at the kennels. Hoping we have lots more reservations and homings in the coming weeks. Take care all. X

Hello. Baby Sam here (yes I'll still be Baby Sam when I'm 14!) I had a surprise day on Sunday. We went to the kennels as usual but, after a walk, I got to have a run in the sand run. We then went home for lunch but afterwards we went to training. On a Sunday afternoon. Very unusual. Auntie Julie was there and so we're my hooman and houndie friends but 2 different ladies did the training. We first ran through all the bronze exercises we do in my class. I don't know why I didn't get treats as usual but Mummy was so happy when I did as I was told so I kept being good. At the end of the bronze exercises Mummy was VERY happy so we're my friends' hoomans. Everyone was clapping and the hoomans got certificates and rosettes. I didn't get to go home then though. We then did more exercises - ones I've just started learning. I could see Mummy willing me to be good and she was giving me treats between exercises so, again, I thought I should behave. I enjoyed doing everything she wanted me to. She was so happy when she collected another certificate and silver tag for my collar. Mummy and Daddy now say I'm a silver dog like my brother Skip and that I'll start working on gold exercises like Skip does. I like making Mummy and Daddy proud. I'm sorry that I do sometimes forget to behave, especially if I see a cat or squirrel, or I'm hungry; but I am just a baby. I'm not 3 until next month. Lots of love Baby Sam. x

As Linda said it took us a good time to get over Blue & Ben and we hadn't been to the kennels for a long time,but on seeing Harry,and watching the way he behaved,he instantly gave us the right feeling about having a dog again,and that he was the right one.He has been as good as gold so far,obviously very excited about everything,but in a controllable way.I had to laugh when he found the toy basket and they were flying through the air.He's such a happy boy,and loves being with you.He went on his first walk today and met another dog with no problems and although I was obviously ready for anything,he was happy to walk right next to you with his lead loose as he wasn't pulling.We are really looking forward to training classes again so watch out Julie Fatharry is back,with another Harry,the "Two Harrys"has a ring to it.I am looking forward to him meeting Peggy,and its great to see comments on here from people I remember.Thank you Kate for your help and guidance.I promise you he'll have a great life and is already loved,and I'll put updates on here about him so you can see how his doing.

Happy 'Gotcha' Day. She's learnt how to play, and sit. She loves to sprawl out on the sofa, and her favourite munchies are sausages and cheese. Can't imagine our family without this beautiful in it. Here's to many more happy years together.
