Brae
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Brae's Mom and Dad,came to the kennels this afternoon to oversee her tag being added to our Memory Tree. Now reunited with her sister Rosie, next to each other on a branch of the tree and running happily side by side at Rainbow Bridge. Xxx Brae had a long and very happy life with Tash, John and Rosie. It was lovely to hear all the happy memories they have of their two beautiful girls. Rosie and Brae were inseparable and had many adventures together. Xxx At Daybreaks, what we want is for every Greyhound to have a wonderful home, just like Rosie and Brae had with Tash and John. Sending them both lots of love Xxx

Babe continues to do well with us. Took her out on a bit of a mega van trip yesterday evening (as i didn’t want to leave her at home without building up the time first). Finished at a pub so she came out and met lots of people. I’ve now got a crate for her and she slept in it next to Kitty in her deluxe residence and neither of them made even a murmur until 7am. Babe likes her new raw diet and is eating well. She’d be a bit of a Velcro dog if you let her so today I’ve been doing stuff (aka housework) upstairs and had the stair gate across. She mithered a bit at the bottom then lay down to wait for me to come down. I also left her for 30 minutes today (again, in her crate next to Kitty in hers) and all was fine. I set up a doggy spy cam and Babe was just lying in her crate not making a sound. She’s a real sweetie and likes some fuss. She’d be happy as an only dog or with another, I think.

I know how you feel. I get so attached to these dogs, even without meeting them. The heart has a habit of casually disregarding all practicalities!

Please don't tempt me! My heart aches for another grey and I know my boy will send me one when it's the right time, mari just sounds exactly our family but we just lead such busy lives with the children, work, animals at home and at the stables that I don't know if I could cope with another dog yet? Xxx

What an absolutely gorgeous day it has been! Beautiful sunshine....... We are currently hosting a veterinary student - Hollie. I have been teaching her how to do corns and nails and yesterday we did three corns on Poppy and today a large corn on Beryl (Peril). 'Hulling' the corns only provides temporary relief but some relief is better than none! Many of you may remember Peril and it was lovely to see her looking so well. Today we had a new receptionist! Jack who is one of our last years college students has continued as a volunteer and wanted to gain some office experience. He has done a brilliant job 🙂 The residents had their walks with the Wednesday walking crew and this afternoon had their enrichment stations and a play in the sand run. Later I will add some photos and videos to our Facebook chat page. Whilst hanging out the blankets this morning, Chris unfortunately felt her back 'go' and we helped her to her car as she was in agony! We hope you feel better soon Chris!

A big cuddle to our little spotty girl tonight. Lyra is nine today :)) She has had a lovely day, started with opening her Birthday cards, one of which was full of Gravy bones, thank you Shirley! Xxx This afternoon she and Cracker went to Castle Bromwich Gardens, they had a great time exploring and doing lots of sniffing! older Brother Skip decided to stay and relax at home. Xxx After dinner it was egg custard time...Skip was the first one up for his! :)) Lyra is now spread full length across two beds, fast asleep. :)) HAPPY BIRTHDAY and lots of love to my precious girl. Xxx xxx
