Angie had everyone fed and cleaned by the time I arrived yesterday morning. :)) Xxx It was a good weather day for walking....thanks so much to Diane and Isla for giving all our residents a stroll around the sand run in the morning. 🙂 Jill and Jan were here for afternoon walks. Xxx Thanks so much to Yvonne, Shirley and Richard who all just "popped" in for things in the afternoon and ended up helping with walks and feeding! :)) And lovely Caroline who loves cleaning the runs! Xxx We are so lucky at Daybreaks to have so many wonderful people to help us...but that's because Greyhounds are so wonderful too! :)) Xxx

LianneDaisy: I / we at Daybreaks are sorry things didn't work out with Babe but there will be a grey that will come along and be perfect for you, your son and the dog. It took myself and my family 3 attempts. First was a foster - looking at rehoming but she didnt like the look of her self in the TV and jumped at it, broke. Second was a foster over christmas but he was already going to a home after christmas. Third came along Emer (now called Penny after our previous dog Cash). Trust me... it will happen.

That is incredibly sad to hear, I'm so sorry. You seemed so excited too. It must have been an awful decision to have to make, but it was a selfless one - doing the best for all concerned. I'm sure all the other greyhounds and lovely Daybreaks will look after her.

Babe is the most beautiful lovely girl. Unfortunately my youngest son who is awaiting an autism assessment really didn't adjust well to her being here so we had to make a decision that was in his and also Babe's best interest. We are heartbroken because she was lovely and just wanted lots of love and attention. I hope she finds her forever home soon.

Well sirenmelody - it is only 136 days until Christmas - thank you for helping raise much needed funds for Daybreaks - I am so grateful. As I wasn't in yesterday, today I got to meet Mari the new arrival who came in. She is such a pretty girl and we have been told by her trainer she was a non chaser on the track and is great with young children. I am sure she wont be here longI have uploaded a snippet of her time since arriving to our Daybreaks Trust Chat Facebook page! We already have a viewing booked tomorrow for Dukey who arrived Wednesday but sadly still no interest in our gorgeous long stayers - Rocky, Robbie and Gal. I am sure their homes our waiting around the corner! It has been a very warm day and this afternoon as we were short of walkers, so the Daybreaks Guests all enjoyed a frozen peanut butter smoothie as one of their snacks this afternoon!

With only one week to go until the Cream Tea Event dare I mention the word "Christmas"??? If you are attending the event and are one of those early birds who likes to catch the best worms then I will have crackers containing varied chocolates and different shower gels plus doggie stockings and gifts from popular brands Kipling and Yankee Candle which are not available elsewhere and all at very heavily discounted prices. All items will be heading off to 2 salons in Solihull and Harborne at the end of September so this may well be a good opportunity to get organised!! Every single penny of all my sales always go to DB which in turn helps all the wonderful boys and girls who so very patiently wait their turn for a loving home. If by chance you live elsewhere in the UK but would be interested in crackers I am happy to pay for packing and postage. Please contact DB and I can in turn make contact and provide photos etc. Thank you everyone. Seana x

Summer returned today! We managed to take the dogs out for their morning walks, but it was just too hot to do anything this afternoon. We did our best to keep the dogs cool. Xxx Pretty little Mari arrived this afternoon.What a cute little girl! She is a non chaser. Her trainer says she can run around all day long but prefers playing. :)) Her trainer said Hello to our kennel dogs, he spotted Robbie and spent several minutes fussing him. Robbie loved all the extra attention. :)) Thanks so much to Shirley for giving Mari a bath. Richard and Declan looked after feeding the other residents. Xxx Thanks to Alan and Declan for for going on a trip to the Warehouse. 🙂 We now have some large bags of Burns Sensitive in stock. I know some people have been having trouble purchasing it recently. Xxx

Dukey is very nervous at the moment, it's a big change in his life coming to Daybreaks. He did enjoy his walk this morning although a little scared of the traffic on the Coventry Road. He also enjoyed his meals which is great. :)) Sure he will soon settle and get used to us all. :)) Xxx

What a delightful young lady Mari is...she arrived this afternoon. She was happy to give out kisses and soon discovered where the treat jar is kept in the treatment room! Her trainers says she is a lovely girl, who loves to play. Xxx

Absolutely gorgeous. Don't be frightened. Ruth, the staff and volunteers will look after you. My Sam had only just turned 2 when I adopted him. My Sam didn't race. I see you've done 5 so you had a go but maybe decided it wasn't for you and that you just want to find your forever sofa. Good luck. I don't think it'll be long. x

Sadly Mr Rocky Rockstar has been unreserved this morning. His potential new sister took a dislike to him and it was felt best to not take the risk in them living together. His new home is out there somewhere...... he is always clean in his kennel and despite being a very big boy at 40kg, he is a cuddle monster!
