Oh darling I'm so sorry. Better for her to decide now rather than after you settle in. I would have you, & Jet & Daisy &, &, & in a heartbeat if I could. At least we get more washing sessions together. I shall make sure I dont do my ears tomorrow morning so you can have a good session as compensation!! Keep your chin up beautiful...patience brings the right home eventually. Have a chat with Jet. He will echo this I am sure. See you tomorrow gorgeous. Xx

Sadly Treaty is no longer reserved. 🙁 His prospective owner feels she let her heart rule her head yesterday and really doesn't think she is ready to take a Greyhound home just yet. She is so sorry to have built up everyone's hopes of a home for Treaty. 🙁 Dont worry his perfect home is out there! Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

We had two young ladies visit the kennels yesterday with a donation for our Greyhounds they had raised by selling homemade cakes, crisps and sweets to their school friends at break times. They had photos taken with Sam and puppy Tigger to take back to school. Charde and Miya thanks so much for all your hard work, so very kind of you both. Xxx Must say a big thank you to Sara for all her help yesterday afternoon, due to the lack of bones in her hip and leg she did the standing still bits, dinners and washing up etc and I did the moving around bits, dogs in and out of kennels etc... :)) bless you! :)) Louis just stood and watched the cats!! :)) Xxx

A big cuddle for Bobby tonight. We have had the pleasure of his company for the weekend. He is the most adorable boy, no trouble whatsoever he settled so well seems like he has been here a lot longer than a couple of days. :)) Got on great with my three, although Lyra was a very sulky girl when he first arrived...all changed today when he wanted to play, bouncing around with bottom in the air! She loves to play so she was more than happy to chase him! :)) Fletcher took it on himself to look after Bobby and stayed close to him on walks. Xx My sister came over this afternoon with her lad Max so we had five Greyhounds strolling around the garden enjoying the sunshine. He is back with Ruth tomorrow ready to go out with hopefully his new family on Tuesday. We will miss this lovely gentleman so much...Xxx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!

A very foggy start to the morning, I did wonder at one point if it was through the tears I cried for Lecky, so terribly sad. X We had to smile, Buster would not come out of his kennel until he had lots of fuss and tummy rubs! Not to be outdone, new boy Torc decided to have a lie down in the run after he had finished his breakfast, he totally refused to get back up, promptly rolled over on his back and ended out being carried back to his kennel like a baby with his legs in the air!! All dogs had l lovely morning walk in the sunshine when it managed to appear! This afternoon saw the all go out again apart from Jet and then Rocky who had a blast in the sand run. Many thanks to everyone for their help today. Lots of lovely bedding and towels donated, thanks. We had a few visitors come and use the sand run, it was lovely to ex-residents Molly, then Eli (was Buster) and then there was lurcher Enzo. All of them had a great run and no doubt went home shattered. Highlight of the day was a visit from a lovely lady who had been thinking of adopting a greyhound......she chose my mate Treaty...yay... and has reserved him pending a home check. So very happy for him, he is such an affectionate, gentle boy. Well Angies screensaver seems to be working, me thinks Mr Rocky is next to grace the screen :)) Speaking of Angie, in her immortal words, I thinks it is wine o'clock! Here's to a happier and successful week. Jo x

We are delighted for you. As Auntie Ruth says, you have had a whirlwind of a time over the past werk but have coped admirably and without complaint. Yoyr Mum would be so very, very proud of you and I have no doubt will be watching with relief that you will enjoy a comfortable and loving home again. I hope your 'trial' period goes well and that it will be all that you want for yourself. A massive thank you to whoever is giving you this opportunity. Xx

Tears falling...again......its so very unfair for both parent & Lecky. If I could understand why one becomes ill & leaves in the prime of life would that make acceptance easier?? Not really. Thank you to her Father for giving her a couple of months at least in a loving home environment. I remember her as a sweet girl to cuddle. The greatest gift a parent can give other than the gift of a loving home is the release of a life from pain and illness. As miserable, hard and downright heartbreaking that it is know that Lecky would understand and support the decision to set her free. Be at peace little girl. Our love and thoughts go out to your Dad. Seana, Melly & Teddy xxx
